Do you follow Chad's directions to the t?  I do not.  I use way less product.  I have thin chin length hair.  I no longer color. It is in good condition except for the thinning. (I hesitate to try the laser combs). I use about 2-3 Tbs. and I do wash twice. I do NOT use it when I am finished.  Tried it and was so limp and next day needed to wash again. I rinse and rinse  then towel dry.  I air dry then finish up with my Calista comb or my round brush dryer. I use no other products.  I also alternate every other day with Tweaked conditioning cleanser or Rise and Shine.  Works for me.

Re: How do you use your WEN?

I use it as Chaz has always taught us to use it.  It has worked great for me that way for 9 years 11 months,so I don't feel the need to not follow his directions.

Re: How do you use your WEN?

I bought several 16 oz plastic squeeze bottles at the beauty supply store.  I pump approx 6-8 oz of Wen into a bottle, add water almost to the top, and shake like mad.  I find that diluting Wen by about 50% makes it SO much easier to work into my hair and makes the washing process so much faster.

Based on my experience with diluting Wen, I would never use it full strength again.

I pretty much follow the instructions given by Chaz. The only thing I change is the "splash" he suggests. I add more "splash" to get the product where it is easier to work into my hair.

Re: How do you use your WEN?

I also use it as directed.  The amounts WILL vary for everyone, based not only on length of hair, but also density.  My hair is fine, straight, and just to my jawline, but not very dense, but i use five pumps from a 32 ounce bottle for the first cleanse, and four to five for the second.   I ALWAYS use half a pump as a leave-in, and sometimes add a couple of pumps of the corresponding styling creme if I am going to heat style the next day.

@bargainsgirlYou mention you have thinning hair.  Have you tried the Botanical Scalp Tonic?  It has made a real difference for me, I have familial hair loss, and since I did not want to go bald like my maternal grandmother did, I decided to do something about it.  My hairline has stopped receding and has come back to where it was in my youth, and both it and my part have filled in.  I use it every night after I'm in for the evening, then when I shower before bed I cleanse it out.  If you cleanse in the morning, you can sleep in it, the longer it's on your scalp the better.  I also use a HairMax cap three times a week, but I think the WEN makes more of a difference, because, when the Q lost so much of it's WEN inventory last spring in that warehouse fire and I had to ration my tonic use, I saw backsliding on hair growth.  I eventually ordered the tonic direct from Chaz and got back on track.  So I can heartily recommend that scalp tonic.

YES, THAT!  I don't think splash is even the appropriate word. My "splash" is running my head through the shower for maybe 2 seconds (not too long to wash it all out) to get it super frothy.  Maybe the equivalent of cupping my hands and putting two hands full of water.  I think not adding enough water is probably where a lot of people fall short.

Re: How do you use your WEN?

I use it as instructed, maybe even more.  I use tea tree and bamboo for first wash and 613 and Bellas for 2nd. Question, my hair/scalp gets greasy on the crown after few days. When I go to salon and they wash my hair, it doesn't get greasy nearly as fast. Any ideas? Thank you girls.  I do use a good splash too.

Do they use your WEN to wash your hair at the salon, or do they use their own shampoo?

No, regular shampoo.

Have you thought of alternating your WEN with a regular shampoo and conditioner every few days?

Also, I find the 319 to be too rich for my fine hair.  The rice formulas seem to be lighter and work better for me.  At a minimum I mix the 319 with the rice Fragrance Free and use it on occasion only.  You might want to try experimenting with different formulas.
