Hi, I've been using Wen for about 5 years so pretty much know what works for me at this point, but I am always wondering about new formulas (they just seem to get better) . This is what I know about myself...thick but very fine hair, I can tolerate menthol if it is near the bottom of the ingredient list, and prefer soy and rice based CC's My favorites, in order, in terms of performance are Summer Lime, summer mango, POM, spring lilac, and BGT. I tried 613 but had trouble with the fragrance (yeah I can be sensitive that way too). Anyway, based on the fact I tend to like the lighter formualations do you think I'd like the new Peony and 319 tsv? I am leaning towards sticking with tried and true but at the same time it is hard to resist. To sum up - I need 'lighter formulas with pretty much undecernible levels of menthol. I appreciate your input because I don't need more product right now and know I will be stocking up on lilac and summer lime over the next several months. My gut is saying maybe try the peony but skip the 319 based on my hair type???? TIA and sorry about the lenght of this note!

I can't say about the PJP or 319 since I haven't tried them yet. However, if you like a lighter, soy-based formula with not a lot of menthol, you might like WWC. You can still get the winter formulas until the end of this month (or is it the end of March?). I think there may still be some pretty good deals on the Q for WWC.

Hi @equss!
The length of your note is perfectly fine, but if you break in paragraphs, it becomes easier to read. ![]()
You are using WEN longer than I, but I am using almost ALL formulas of WEN! So I'll dare to advice only a tiny bit!
Vast majority of Wenners, all with different hair types, already bought PJP. We went to get a new Pink Jasmine Peony without knowing precisely how it would perform for each one of us.
We do not know how does this new CC perform, and yet - we fell in love with it! Only very few tried it already and really liked it. They report back it to have a wonderful fragrance and light consistency.
613 I get, you don't like the smell of, but 319 has no added fragrance, in my opinion this extra nourishing formula is super for ANY hair type! But frequency and amount used will depend on how much and how often you hair will like to receive 319.
If you open a video on 613/319 product, you can see how much Chaz praises, stresses out the importance of using these. He personally adds two pumps of it in his every cleanse.
Also, there are several threads on this board where we discussing/guessing about Pink Jasmine Peony. Well, it's new, you know? So we are all excited and curious about it too. ![]()
Here is a video of Chaz own healthy hair. Fascinating!

@equss - I just used the PJP this morning for the first time! I have a lot of hair, although thin, frizzy, wavy (not the really nice beachy waves), some curly spots. Cleansed twice. I had to blow dry this morning, so I put other product in my hair.
The PJP did leave my hair soft and silky feeling, although the frizz and waves will probably appear once I walk out the door! However, I'm finding the fragrance a bit too strong for me, and it is lingering. For me, it's like walking into a room full of all different flowers and getting the smell all at once. I will use it one more time alone and let my hair air dry and see how it does. After that, I will probably mix it with another CC to tone down the scent.
Sorry this was so long - hope it helps you!

Just adding, I have washed, but not yet dried, my 3" below shoulder, fine, thick hair with the PJP.
The consistency is light, much lighter than 613, which I adore. PJP is more like BGT, of the ones you mentioned trying. But, to me the consistency is exactly like the MIF.
As a matter of fact the PJP has the same pump, which I really like, as the MIF does, these are the only 2 I've seen this pump on, so I think the similar consistency is not in my imiganitation.

I haven't tried the PJP yet but if you're looking for something light I probably wouldn't recommend the 319. Of course, I have no idea what that one is like either but if it's anything like 613 I would consider it very heavy. I agree with the suggestion to maybe try the WWC since that's a very light formula.

Hi @equss, I don't remember seeing you here before, so I wanted you welcome to the wenderful Wen forum. ![]()
Like you, I have baby fine hair... just not a lot of it. ![]()
I haven't tried 319 CC yet, but I love the 613 CC and as @HSB1204 mentioned, it is a thicker and more concentrated formula... which is why Chaz calls it "Wen on steroids". I'm a huge fan of 613 CC, so I'd still recommend that you give the 319 CC a try since your hair likes the soy formulas. -- If you are thinking about it, you may want to wait until the reviews start coming in, because folks are just starting to place their advance orders for it.... and the TSV isn't until March 19th (so you have time).
Since the rice-based Bamboo Green Tea (BGT) works for you, you might want to give either the Mandarin Italian Fig (MIF) or it's Fragrance Free (FF) CC equivalent a spin. Like BGT, both of them are also in the rice-based Restorative line.-- While I'm not menthol sensitive, I can just barely detect the menthol scent in the FF CC.
BGT CC was my fave until MIF and FF were created. These two formulas give my hair it's best results because they give my hair added moisture.
Best of luck!! ![]()

Thanks Bebe for the great ideas! I will watch the reviews for 319 and try the other rice formulas. Appreciate your input.
