@jpie, while I don't  have curly hair, Bamboo Green Tea (BGT) was my hands down favorite until I met Mandarin Italian Fig (MIF) andI was smitten-- it was love at first site. Smiley Happy MIF is everything BGT except MIF gives my hair more moisture. -- MIF

doesn't smell as wenderful as BGT but your hair will thank you for using MIF. Smiley Happy

My first reaction was to skip the December TSV, because I had a Nov. 30 release date on a gallon of SOB (my 2nd favorite after SHP), but I decided to work the mathematics. I seem to think that the gallons are the best value, LOL.  (too much shopping at Sam's and Costco I suppose)

Here is what I calculated:

One gallon (128 oz.) to be shipped for free this time worked out to be $188.00 + tax.  My tax rate was $10.93, so the grand total for a gallon (seasonal) was $198.93.  This works out to $1.55/per oz.

The December TSV (any variety including seasonals) is $79.90+ $3.00 s/h + $4.75 tax for a grand total of $87.65.  This works out to be $1.10/per ounce.

So, to compare/contrast:  the December TSV is gifting us a bonus of two 16 oz. bottles (over the gallon cost) free if you get both auto deliveries.  I love three of the formulas and the other two are okay for my hair, but I may also gift them.

Now I am trying to decide on whether I want the rice-based set or the seasonal.  I have never tried the MIF, but the BGT is great for my curly hair.

Thanks Chaz for giving us more choices then ever!

I was able to push my gallon delivery out to January 20. I will most likely cancel, but I am loving my SOB!

@jpie,  thank you so much for that great cost breakdown!! The December TSV basically costs $128 for a gallon plus less than one additional $3 S&H charge. It's an amazing value!!! Smiley Happy

I checked out the blue sky site.  The rice formula set is calling my name!  At first I was thinking that an unscented wasnt a good idea but now I'm thinking I can use it to wash my face?  The packaging is beautiful.  Very high end looking to me.  Does this unscented appeal to anyone?  Why?  How are you going to use it?  I love all the different scents.

@40nu20, the two rice-based Restorative line formulas (BGT & MIF)  are hands-down the best formulas for my hair. If I didn't love the seasonal so much I would stick with just the restorative line formulas.

I took a quick look at the ingredients decks for both the new fragrance free rice-based cleansing conditioner and for the MIF cleansing conditioner. Both of the formulas are very similar so since the MIF formula works best on my hair, I think the new rice-based fragrance free formula will probably work really well on my hair as well,

@quadmimi   My December tsv last year shipped on November 16th.  If you already ordered it it should ship a couple of days after you order it.

@morenaroxx,  i'm fairly sure that if you place your TSV  order now, that it will ship out now.

It's always good to place your advance Wen TSV  orders as soon as possible, because there is only a limited advance stock available. If you wait too long  sometimes they  go through the advance quantity and your order gets placed on waitlist.

@bebe777 Thanks!

I'm going to place my order tonight. I'm definitely going to purchase the auto-delivery of the seasonals but I'm also thinking about getting the rice set too. I'v never tried MIF or BGT though. Chaz is getting all of my money this season. After this purchas and a WVM oil when it becomes available I'm locking my purse.

i know what you mean about locking down the bank account! i was only planning on getting a core set (woohoo! VERY excited because i'm finally trying a full bottle of lavender) but i am so very tempted by that fragrance free. i think i'll wait. but it's going to be difficult!

in addition to my excitement about this great deal, i'm glad to be balancing out my stash with cores that i desperately need (hello, fall and winter, my crazy curly hair hates you for zapping all the moisture from everywhere).

also, i can't believe last year was the first year i took advantage of the december tsv. it really is a super deal.

I was also thinking along those lines.  The MIF works wonderfully on my thick, color-treated and coarse hair.  I'm hoping the unscented does the same as they seem very similar.  I think this unscented formula is a great idea from WEN.  Some of the fragrances can be strong to some people and this should tone them down and be a great addition to their already awesome line.
