Universal Orlando Hotel Recommendations

I’m planning a trip to Universal Studios Orlando this November. Does anyone have recommendations on which hotel to stay at? And any tips they can share? Thank you!

Re: Universal Orlando Hotel Recommendations

We have stayed at Hyatt Place, right by the entrance to Univ, very nice, reasonable and included breakfast.

Re: Universal Orlando Hotel Recommendations

I have been to Universal twice most recently this past Memorial day.  Both times I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel.  This hotel is within walking distance of Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Universal City Walk.  There is a shuttle available to take you to Epic Universe and the water park.  By staying on site, you have access to the Universal Express Pass lanes which allows you to take shorter lines on rides that offer those express lanes.

The hotel is very nice.  They have two restaurants on site.  One is The Palm which is upscale.  We did not eat there but we did eat in the other on site restaurant and ordered room service which was really good.  The pool is great.  They play rock music by pool side and there are under water speakers.  The pool bar is attached to the hotel so even if the weather closes the pool (which happened every day of our stay) you can still enjoy the pool bar.  Servers also serve you pool side if you want.

We also stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and loved it. The Express Pass and the pool were our favorite things.

Re: Universal Orlando Hotel Recommendations

Third recommendation for the Hard Rock Hotel.  Nice rooms with Keurigs and the pool was very nice.

Also very close to walk to parks and restaurants and the movie theater.  Hubs was sick the first day so DD and I went to see a movie.  Ice cream shop in the basement!

Wish the Disneyworld hotels were as nice as the Hard Rock.

Re: Universal Orlando Hotel Recommendations

I stayed st Cabana Bay for 6 days.  They have a lazy river that I'd use every day around 1-2.  Loved the theming and they had a bus ready to take you to the parks or City Walk very quick.  Once I left the parks at closing and it looked like 300 people in the bus line but I watched an employee counting the people and he was on the phone and pretty quick the water park sent over 3 busses and cleared the line.  Disney never did that.  You could easily wait an hour.
