Re: Trip Report - live from Torres del Paine, Patagonia (January 2019)

We saw evidence of puma but, alas, no puma today

But, we did get to see one other iconic resident of Patagonia - the condor.  Horrible photos, I know.

I saw quite a lot of dead trees from various forest fires over the years.  All fires caused by the negligence of people.

Treats were waiting for us at the end of the trail

@Alter Ego The whole trip is worth it just for the mountain range, right? Wonderful photos. Heart

How many more days are you on the trip?

We stopped at Cascada Paine - a very beautiful waterfall that we also had to ourselves!

We ended with a stop so I could get some flamingo photos.  They were still far away, but at least it’s closer than the dots I posted before!!

Re: Trip Report - live from Torres del Paine, Patagonia (January 2019)

In the afternoon, I went on the Hunters Trail hike.  At first, I didn’t think it was as picturesque as the other areas, but it had a higher probability to see puma (did not).

More on these guys in another post.  But, we had a little wait to get started on our hike.

We then started walking up to see some cave drawings, and the vistas changed once again

Once again, there were refreshments (just not quite as much as the morning!)

The guide stopped to talk to a young boy he knew who was helping move his family’s cattle to its summer pastures.  Think he said it took 5 days to move them all.  Posting this photo to show some of the hard working dogs that helped.

Guanacas!

a relative of the camel, they are kind of like the impala of Patagonia.  After a while, you stop talking photos.
