The last time I was there, I got stuck because of an accident on 89A in Oak Creek Canyon,  causing  a TRAFFIC JAM for HOURS.   There is no way to get out of there...and I was pretty frazzled.    And I had a car full of "cranky" guests!    "Next time"....they can book a tour!

Yes, it's breathtakingly beautiful...I don't know about "spiritual", tho.  di

@Desertdi.  I'm not really into "spiritual" either but if people "Feel" the place more power to them.

Too bad about your traffic jam as that's a beautiful ride.

Very beautiful!  We went to Sedona in 2011 and it was just stunning!  We got to see the sunset too.

It is truly stunning. I've been there three or four times,  absolutely stunning.

Great hiking too.

Just beautiful!

I'm lucky to have visited Sedona also.  I agree with you Kachina, it should become a national park.

Edited to add:  My friends and I visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross while there.  Absolutely beautiful.  My cousin's ex wife had passed away the day before (in NY) so I was very thankful to pray for her in such an amazing place.

My mother's family is from AZ,  We would visit to see the sights in the 1960's before a lot of kooks turned up anddeclared it was a spiritual place with spiritual energy.

Any place can be spiritual.

I was looking around in the TRAVEL folder for some mention of Tucson. In a few days, I'll be spending a week there at a work conference. Saguaro Natl. Park is on my list, but I am looking for additional ideas. Seeing this post makes me I wish I could get to Sedona. I'll definitely have to go back!

What is the best time of the year to visit Sedona?
