Re: Question About Current Airport Issues

As with airline travel, pack your patience!  Even in the best times and great weather, things can happen.  I am always so glad when iI am in  my seat and ready to go! I have TSA PreCheck, which is a lifesaver for me!!

Head directly to the gate for your next flight. Once you're there, don't stray too far for shopping or stolling. Give yourself enough time to get in line when they begin boarding.

Re: Question About Current Airport Issues

I've been wondering what people do that have disabilities and can't stand in line?  Stay home and cancel the trip I'm guessing.   Normally a Sky Cap would push them through the airport and TSA line then to they gate but I'm think they aren't going to spend 3 or 4 hours with one person.

@Kachina624 - I've been wondering about this too. They must have some kind of protocol for this. Watching the lines, I don't think I would be able to stand that long.

In other circumstances, when you wait in line, if you're with someone else, you can take breaks once in a while. Years ago I did this with the latest toy or video game.

One time we were at DH's family's farm for Thanksgiving. Game Stop was getting the latest system in for Black Friday. DH and I left at midnight. It was zero degrees up there. We were third in line. I tried as long as I could, but after a while I had to go to the car to get warm. I kept going back and forth. Finally, about 6 a.m. they passed out 10 vouchers to everyone. We just took one. They opened the doors about 8.

I could never do that now.  Smiley Wink

Re: Question About Current Airport Issues

@patticakes - Like @Laura14 and @Tori3569  - I have had lots of experience changing flights in Atlanta. What I do:

When I'm booking I usually allow at least 2 hours to change flights.

I have been on the plane train a lot. It was intimidating at first.

I immediately go to my departing gate. If I have enough time and I'm hungry, I will get something to eat, not far from the gate. In other words I stay very close to the gate!

Re: Question About Current Airport Issues

One of my nieces is flying in from Berlin Germany today.  She is getting a connecting flight to Florida to visit a friend before coming home for Easter.   My sister-in-law wants her to come out so they can meet before her connecting flight.  I told her not to do that because she would have to go through security again and possibly miss her flight.  I'll find out later on today what she decided to do.  One of my other nieces and her husband are flying in from LAX for Easter.   Not sure when they are coming.  Hopefully the lines will not be so bad by that time.

Re: Question About Current Airport Issues

My husband flies out of ATL Monday for work.  He's been hoping the trip would be canceled, no luck.  My husband and his co-workers plan on getting to ATL at least 5 hours before flight, maybe more.  I live about 40 minutes North of ATL and, of course, it's on the news all the time.  The other day the TSA line went outside.
