Need recommendation for accomodations in Myrtle Beach.  Would like to be as close to the boardwalk ( walking distance).  Having a difficult time navigating the area and what is where.  Generally we like to be close to the action.  The boardwalk, restaurants and shops.  Don't want to have to hop in the car, fight traffic and find a place to park.  Thanks everyone!

Beautiful place to visit ! Sorry I can't give any hotel recommendations, I went there many years ago just a day trip because I visited my sister and her husband who were stationed at the air force base in Sumter SC. We drove to the beach, the weather was beautiful. I remember finding  a jellyfish on the beach. My children were young, they went into the water and loved it !  Enjoy your stay!

How are navigating???

You must not be using the satellite and/or street option setting(s) in Google and/or Apple Maps.

Are you going during spring break/Easter vacation? Do you like being with a million teens and college students? I prefer the quieter North Myrtle Beach.

In that area, I suggest Roxanne Tower.

@ScrapHappy

When my girls were small, Myrtle Beach was our #1 getaway vacation spot during Spring Break.   Outside of a trip to the Gay Dolphin gift shop, we were more likely to be found shopping at Bass Pro, the Mall, or playing miniature golf.   Even back then we didn't like the congestion on S. Ocean Blvd.

We stayed at Holiday Sands, both North and South locations, Blue Water Resort, or Landmark Resort.  My girls always wanted to stay at the Patricia Grand, but we never did.

The last time we were there 11 years ago, we stayed at the Crown Reef, which is on the south end of S. Ocean Blvd, closer to the Springmaid Pier and Damon's restaurant.   A short drive south leads to S. Kings Highway.  Left heads towards Murrells Inlet; I always checked out a crafters mall on that end, and we went to Brookgreen Gardens several times.   Most often we turned right on S. Kings Highway to shop at Christmas Mouse, eat at Dennys, or make a Krispy Kreme run.   Broadway at the Beach was also a favorite place to shop.

@ScrapHappy - you did not give much information as to your travel plans. When do you plan on going to MB? What do you like to do: shop, golf?

Probably around Spring Break time.  I know it's probably one of the worst times to go but that's my daughters next time off from school.  My daughter picked the place.  She likes the beach, boardwalk and shopping.

@ScrapHappy - Yes, it will definitely be crazy time. So I'm guessing March/April? Just to let you know, there are 2 major bike rallies in May - which you might want to avoid.

@ScrapHappy

Just remembered the last time we stayed in the main strip area of Myrtle Beach, a meth lab was discovered in the motel beside us.
