Hi, everybody. My problem is there are no flights that go there....not that I can see. It’s over a couple of hours drive from Atlanta and I’m not one of these people to drive in strange places. I’m hoping someone on here is familiar with suburbs of Atlanta and can share some info.
I’d like to know about getting a bus from the Atlanta airport to Albany. My son says he will pick me up but that’s over two hours to Atlanta, then two hours back to his house. Then when I leave, there’s the drive back to the Atlanta airport. If I had realized this visit would be so complicated, I wouldn’t have told my grandkids I was coming, lol.
Instead of flying, maybe the train goes to Albany, Georgia?? Thanks.

Perhaps there's shuttle or limo service between the airport and some point (hotel?) In Albany.
@Mmsfoxxie. There appears to be a commuter airline, Skywest operated by Delta Connection, that flies into Albany from Atlanta. I'd call Delta Airlines.

Hello @Mmsfoxxie I have friends that fly into Tallahassee FL and from there it is 100 miles to Albany. It's much closer than Atlanta.

Just looked on a map. Talahasee FL is closer to Albany Ga...apprroximately 90 'driving' miles...about a 1 1/2 hour drive if going 60 mph. Atlanta is approximately 182 'driving' miles from Albany...clearly twice as far in driving miles, and a 3 hour drive if going 60mph the entire time. Maybe you could fly into Talahasee instead? Good luck.

I suggest you check the Delta airlines website. Calling will result in additional fees for booking by phone (rather than on the website).
Depending on the day of the week, there are 2-3 daily flights to ABY from ATL on their Delta Connection partner, SkyWest.
The aircraft are CRJ1 or CRJ2 50 seat commuter jets, commonly refered to by frequent flyers as the Canadian Torture Tube (they're made by a Canadian company) because they're miserably uncomfortable and cramped, but it's a short flight and it'll get you there.

Check w/Marta trains. You can take Marta (train) from inside the Airport. I think you will need to change trains at Five Points station. Then get on one that will take you to Albany. Go to Marta's website to get mapping instructions.

@Mmsfoxxie, what a great bunch of people here! Looks like you have several options.
Enjoy your trip! LM

@Mz iMac Sorry, there is no Marta train to Albany, Ga. Marta is local Atlanta area only including to the airport and back to Atlanta.

You’re right @Lilysmom, there’s a lot of good info here from some helpful people. Especially on the travel forum and electronics forum where I’m very lacking.
Thank you all that sent me leads. I’m going to check Delta’s website and the train info. I get motion sick so that commuter plane will be an issue but I knew that if there was a connection from Atlanta, a commuter plane probably would be it. Would prefer a Greyhound. Maybe Uber.
I’m going to save these posts to refer back to and any other suggestions that may appear. The trip is in May for my grandson’s high school graduation. Can’t miss that!
Thanks again for everyone’s input. It’s much appreciated.
