Thinking of going to Hilton Head March 2027, 19-28 so I guess that's towards the end of March?  I'm okay with cooler weather, not being able to swin.  Can still take walks on the beach.  My question is:  is everything (or most) things open?  I know with coastal towns/destinations that businesses close for the season.  It will be a bummer to go with most restaurants closed and most other businesses.

@ScrapHappy  That time of year you might have to deal with kids on spring break.

We were there in mid October and all was open. Never even thought about going on beach. Only 45 minutes from Savannah, if you have  never been there great to get there too

Most restaurants will be open by the end of March. The weather could be iffy especially on the beach. It probably won't be cold but windy and maybe chilly the closer that you get to the shore.

You might want to check Hilton Head Island official guide and the Visitors Center to see what activities take place in March. Don't go around March 17 if you are thinking abut a side trip to Savannah! Saying this as a life long Savannahian until I moving to North GA at age 67.

We took our grandkids there for spring break in March two years ago.  Pretty much everything was open as far as I can remember.  I do recommend you research restaurants in advance and make reservations if you want to go out for dinner.  We didn't realize how crowded they would be and couldn't find a restaurant with anything less a 45 minute wait the first night.  We were in a condo so we didn't eat out every night, but we learned our lesson after that.

Whatever you do, drive to Savannah and eat at Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House.  You can thank me later.

I've been to Savannah and did eat at Mrs. Wilke's Boarding House.  Hours waiting in line but worth it.
