You don't make it clear why you are researching the Disney Cruise Line. Are you bringing children, which is the special entertainment interest of the Disney cruise? Or are you going as Adult Only but like many of the other Disney amenities? It's easier to answer if there is a context for why you are in particular considering a Disney cruise.
I think it might be obvious why a cruise with kids would lean towards Disney. Here are some good sites to read regarding Disney and Adult Only cruises.

I have been on 5 Disney cruises. And look forward to going on many more.
We are members of the Disney Vacation Club. So we use our points to "pay" for the cruises. In fact I went to lunch yesterday with my girlfriend. She got back a few weeks ago from the Disney Panama Canal trip. She goes every year on that cruise.
We like it. And can't wait to go on another cruise. But we currently have a dog that will not eat if his routine is changed. We went to Spring Training (baseball) a few weeks ago. We took him with us. We were gone 8 days and he ate 2 meals. Boarding him is worse. He tries to chew his way out of the wire enclosure. He has messed up his jaw and nose. We also used Rover.com and he would not eat the entire time he was at the people's house.
Be interested to hear which cruise you pick. We really like Castaway Cay. It is Disney's own island. We took a cruise that only went there.

We have taken many cruises--about 20 most on Holland America--and never on a Disney and never will. I may be wrong but not having kids I do not want to be around a ship full. Also Disney tends to have larger ships and I prefer smaller, 1200 passenger ships. If you're planning on going with children, grandchildren it may be worth it. Otherwise I would check out other cruise lines. Personally, the ports of call always determined which cruises we chose, not so much the ship.

@kaydee50 OMG a shipload of kids. I'd jump overboard somewhere along the way.

Totally agree. We don’t have kids or grandkids and the last thing I would want is to be in a captive environment with bunches of kids. That’s not a vacation to us. We typically take Holland America and I can usually count on one hand the number of kids I see.

Planning on going with kids and one grandchild. Sorry I didn’t mention that

Been on several cruises and I must say Disney can hold its own with the others. Been on 3 Disney cruises, the last to celebrate our 50th with children and 6 grandchildren. Had a wonderful trip. We also are members of Disney Vacation Club so using our points made the trip more affordable. Only one thing I did not like was the fact Disney has no Casinos on their ships.
