The experts say you should hide two. One in a super easy location to be found and the other as deeply hidden as possible. That way if someone hijacks your car they will get an alert there is an Air Tag following them. They throw it away thinking they are safe and by the time the second one is found it gives you a better chance at recovery.
I only have one in my car and the location is shared with my kids.
That's a gteat suggestion, I'll be doing the same. Thank you.

I would never travel without these again. My daughter and I flew to Amsterdam this summer for a cruise to Norway. We flew out a few days early. Our flight was cancelled and they rerouted us thru DC instead of NJ. Our 1 big suitcase that was checked got lost. We were on United and at some point a few days later it got routed to Germany on Luftansia. We could see where it was when it was landing. The Saturday night before we were leaving United told us they couldn't locate our case. We had to send them pics of the air tag showing where the bag was. They were able to find it Frankfurt thanks to our information. The case arrived in Amsterdam the night before our cruise. Again United didn't know where it was. My daughter and I headed to the airport and tracked down the case using the air tag. It was sitting next to the baggage stand. My daugher got in thru security and was able to get the bag and we boarded the cruise that morning with the case. Without the air tag that would never have happened.

@TurnerGal That's great that they worked well for you! I'm sorry that your luggage was lost but because of your Air Tag it was easily found!
I also went on a European cruise this summer and I decided to get an Air Tag to put in my checked suitcase. Fortunately, it was never lost however I don't know what I was doing wrong because every time I left my stateroom t where my luggage was, I would get a notification that my luggage was no longer near me!
I could never figure out how to easily shut it off and turn it back on because when I finally did shut it off, it was off and I couldn't figure out how to turn it back on. I still have that Air Tag and will have to check out YouTube on how to use it properly.
Glad it worked out so well for you!

Don't really fly anywhee anymoe but if I do, I would use them. Seen stories of airlines loosing luggage but with the Airtag was found. Also with some of the problems like the computer glitch recently, I think it would be worthwhile to have.

That did not help my friends when their luggage was put on the wrong cruiseship. They had no clothes for 3 days. They were upgraded to a suite.Big deal.... It cost them $300.00 to buy clothes on the ship!

That's no fault of the air tags. At least they knew where they were. Why didn't they check them before they boarded ship? We always check ours after landing to see where they are.
