After coming home from my Hawaiian cruise in Nov., it slowly dawned on me that I had nothing planned for 2020. That was completely unacceptable. I got online  that night and foun d a cruise right out of a local port to the Bahamas for 7 days. The price  that night was too good to pass up so we booked it and leave on 3/1. The port is so close that it's cheaper to take a cab there and back than to park my car at the port. No packing limitations either as I'm not flying anywhere. Will be bringing plenty of disinfectant and wipes.

Next trip is in sept. A Caravan Bus trip to Mt. Rushmore, Yosemite, Old Faithful etc. I was looking at Tauck but the same trip with many of the same hotels and 1 less day, was 2 1/2x  the price as Caravan. So Caravan it is.

3d trip is a solo woman's trip with Road Scholar to Albequerque NM to learn about Conservos and Crypto-Jews in early Nov before Thanksgiving.

We'll probably do some local trips during the spring and summer to MD, Vermont, Upstate NY and the Hamptons to see friends.

I'm kso happy to have finished the initial planning and only have to book the flights for  the trips in the fall.

Re: 2020 travel plans (so far)

We just returned from our first trip this year and have 3 more planned.  Already have 2 planned for 2021!  We love planning trips and like to make reservatons well ahead of time.

Re: 2020 travel plans (so far)

I’m leaving on Saturday for my first trip of the year. I also have trips planned through January 2021, with ideas in my head for years afterwards (need to for budgeting purposes.)

Re: 2020 travel plans (so far)

Our first trip in 2020 will be to Louisiana in April.  We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary on 03/14/2020.  Then we will have been to all 50 states in 50 years.  Lord willing.

Then who knows what or where we will go.

@reiki604. I hope you enjoy Albuquerque; I live in the suburbs.  I never heard the term Conservos so I googled it but couldn't find much.  In the urban dictionary it's defined thusly:

"Someone cruel and uncaring, wanting what they think is best for everyone but not caring who is hurt or upset while getting it."

The definition makes me think perhaps it was the Conquistadors.  Is thst correct?  If so, why don't they call them by their correct name?

Anyway, hope you enjoy your trip to our fair city.

@Kachina624 According to Road Scholar, they are a group who fled Spain during the inquistion and assimilated into the Pueblo culture while hiding but practicing their religion. I know nothing about this, but it sounded interesting. If you google Conservos and Crypto-Jews, a lot comes up with that.

What is the weather like in mid Nov.?  I'll be there from the 15-20. Thank you!!!

@reiki604.  The weather is usually sunny and just a bit chilly, cold at night.  It could, however, be most anything.  This past Thanksgiving Day, we had 7" of snow.  Albuquerque is at the same altitude as Denver, 5,270 ft and that bothers some people.

There are a ton of interesting things to see and do in this area, most require having a car.  Let me know if you want suggestions.
