Re: Ninja CREAMi - after reading Amazon reviews, I WON'T be buying

I don't consider this an Ice Cream machine.  If I want to make ice cream, I'll use an ice cream maker that churns it.

However, it is a good machine for making high protein or keto frozen treats.  Anything keto is more expensive than their non-keto counterparts.  And the problem with making a keto frozen treat is that the leftovers don't re-freeze well.   However, with the Creami, you can re-freeze and re-spin them.  That's for my husband.

For me, I have the Deluxe which you can get at Costco for the same price QVC is selling the Creami for and I'm interested in trying Italian ice, or a frozen beverage.

Re: Ninja CREAMi - after reading Amazon reviews, I WON'T be buying

I love my Creami. Is it loud? Yeah. So are blenders, food processors, and lots of other appliances. It's a neat little gadget. The best ice cream recipe I use is from Cook's Illustrated, but it's a bit involved. I now mostly use the soft serve ice cream mix with two cups of milk. If you run the cup under hot water for a bit, or let it sit out a bit, the iciness issue is gone. The blade can't reach the edge of the cup or it would scrape the plastic of the cup and most people don't want to eat plastic. If you soften that outer edge the blade can't reach, there's no more iciness. This is how most restaurants make ice cream. They use a commercial device called a Pacojet that works the same way.

Re: Ninja CREAMi - after reading Amazon reviews, I WON'T be buying

I've used mine weekly since I bought it two years ago.  My son is sensitive to dairy so his choices at the grocery store are a little limited.  I wouldn't necessarily call what it makes ice cream, but it is a taste frozen treat.

I think it is less loud than my blender.

Re: Ninja CREAMi - after reading Amazon reviews, I WON'T be buying

We have a local Cold Stone Creamery near us.  We can blend nearly anything from a huge array of ingredients (including non-dairy for me) and have them mx it for the perfect ice cream or sorbet.  In the summer I may have one every other week.

So absolutely no need for a kitchen counter-, and freezer-hog appliance that I would never need.  It doesn't even fit under kitchen cabinets.

Mine fits just fine on my kitchen counter under the cabinet.

We really like the Creami.  It creates a great texture!  Love the mix-in feature, too.  And we found it much quieter than using Vitamix to make ice cream.  Very easy to use.

I was very tempted the first time it was a TSV! What stopped me cold was the measurements of the machine. I couldn't get over the height! It would be much too tall to fit under my cabinet or even to store at the bottom of my pantry.

I also have a Vitamix which can do a lot in making frozen desserts.

I read many one star reviews on Amazon.  (I ALWAYS look at one star reviews first.)  Because of some of the very real complaints (and pictures, for proof), I won't be buying this product.  I can't post the link here.  Look for yourself.

@spent2much  I've had a Creami for a few years. Right now, I'm using it almost every day. I make healthy ice cream using a meal replacement powder and it is wonderful! I know many people who have Creamis and they all love it. It is a game changer if you are working to eat healthy but still want to enjoy something that tastes like a treat.

I made butterscotch (meal replacement) ice cream in my Creami this morning and brought it to work. It's what's for lunch!

Ninja has great CS, too. My first Creami broke at 9 months and they replaced it for free. The replacement is still working perfectly.
