Re: Le Creuset TSV 9/29

I have given up on Le Creuset.  I have a dutch oven and a braiser.  Both are still in very good condition since they aren't used all that much.

However, I also have two small fry pans and a small saucepan.  All have been used a lot and all have gotten chipped (they were dropped and they chip...my fault) and I believe that since I have a gas range all of my red pieces now have black bottoms.

I have tried everything to get the black off of the bottoms of my pans....I even had one soaking overnight in oven cleaner....impossible to get off!  Some of the black did come off but it wasn't worth it to me to spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to make them look nice.

The fact that they are very heavy is also a negative to me.  I have an oval stoneware Le Crueuset covered casserole that still looks like new after using it for years almost every week!

I have been replacing my cookware with Caraway stainless steel.  They are beautiful pieces and a dream to clean! They are sturdy but not anywhere near as heavy as Le Creuset cast iron.

@tl98466 - You could be right. I would be surprised though because most of the TSV's are made in France.

DH gave me a set for a wedding present. I still use them and rely on them. I have added "a few" pieces from QVC - LOL!

I also have an enamel stockpot that is not made in France.

I hope this is something that won't tempt me!  Smiley Wink

I watched the little video on David's fb. Curious what it will be. It was a bigger box so not the little size they had as a tsv a few year's ago. I would like to get another.

The TSV is-

8qt Oval Dutch Oven with Cast Iron Lid.

LC has it for 495 in Cerise. I'm sure Q's price will be great!

Tooooooo heavy for me, though.

I'm sure it's great for Holidays and family meals.

I couldn't edit my post....

I'm sure the new Mauve color will be an option for the above TSV Oval Dutch.
