I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

But unlike the other shopping channel, you:
1. Rarely if ever offer Easy Pay on your best value of the day.
2. Offer reduced shipping if items are bought within the same department. I bought 2 TSV towel sets, and you couldn't knock a couple bucks off my shipping?
3. You offered $4.00 off for every other towel set bought. Well, good for you, that does help with the shipping cost at least. However I can't load all 3 on one credit card at the same time (no Easy Pay, remember?), so I was going to put the 3rd set on another card. But guess what? Unlike the other shopping channel that lets me come back and buy more of the same item at a discount up to 6 hours later or until the sale ends, you don't.
And here we are.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

@grammarqueenI'm sorry your desired item isn't on EZPay.

I currently have 6 items on my EZPay list with another AD to ship in March.  They were all TSV's, they are all items I can't buy elsewhere or can't buy elsewhere for the same price and, without actually checking for sure, I'd say more than half had free shipping and the others are shipping for less than they would have prior to the most recent policy change.  Maybe I got the only TSV's that ever had EZPay last year?????

Finally, I'd tell you I don't care what HSN's payment policies are because I don't want anything they sell because I had such poor purchases in the past and I'm not trying again..  I hope you find your towels there at a price you want to pay.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

@grammarqueen, look somewhere else.

When you add the s/h, it works out to $6.31 a piece. That is a good price for the bath towels but not such a good price for the washcloths or hand towels.

Right now, Kohls is doing 20% off, triple reward points and you earn $10.00 for every $50.00 you spend.  If you spend $75.00+, you get free s/h.

The last towels I bought I bought from Kohls.  They are nice, fluffy towels but not so big and fluffy that they are a nuisance to wash and dry.  Plus some towels IMO are just too big and heavy and don't dry well.

I also don't like big, thick washcloths and handtowels like is included with this TSV.  I like to buy everything separately so I get exactly what I want.  But even if you want exactly what is included in this TSV, I'm betting you can find something elsewhere for a comparable or maybe better price.

I cannot remember the brand name of my towels from Kohls except that I know they are one of their own house brands.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

I only buy things (97% of the time) unless it's on easy pay.  I do that because I end up sending way too many things (clothes) back.

I often order (well sometimes) more than one color of something.  I have to try everything on because one color (same size, ordered at the same time, different color) will fit and the other's won't.  It happens so frequently I decided I didn't need anything so unless it is on easy pay, I pass over on it.  That way I don't have a lot of money constantly turning around.  As it is, it's stupid.

I thought it was just QVC.  Just the other day at lunch my friend (who only shops at 'brick and mortar' stores she was complaining about the same thing....

It's been years since I've bought clothes at 'brick and mortar' stores because I have trouble walking, it's easier to order on line or TV.

I know with QVC they let different countries/manufacturer bid on making garments.  My guess is that some save money by cutting a tiny bit smaller (or larger) on the garment.  Just a tiny amount can make a difference in both the way the garment fits and how much money they save.

So....that's why I only buy things on easy pay.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

I just bought 4 - 3 pc sets of Bamboo/Turkish cotton towels from Cariloha. It was $127 after the 35% off.

The TSV is a good price if the towels are worth it. I thought about ordering a set to try them but guess I will pass. I read the reviews on the other 600 GSM towel set Q has. It shows 30 - 4 star reviews but a dozen of them are not good reviews that say the towels are not absorbent. 1 review states it's almost like it's not cotton. Another review said it's like microfiber. I for one don't want to dry off with microfiber because they are not absorbent.

I want nice soft towels you can dry off with that stay soft without using fabric softener. I don't use fabric softener & the towels always end up rough feeling.

I read the 2 things you need to know when buying towels was GSM & cotton type like Egyptian, Pima or Turkish. Q states 600 GSM but only states cotton which tells me it's not Egyptian, Pima or Turkish cotton???

Maybe it's just me, but if I have four towels I want four washcloths. Why only two with these sets?  The handtowels aren't used much here, so don't really care how many of those you get. Maybe four washcloths and no hand towels.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

I wouldn't buy another towel through a shopping channel even if they offered EZ Pay for a year.

I have found that you need to actually see and feel them.

I bought the TSV from HSN about a year ago, and they went back real quick.  The color wasn't what they had shown, the feel of the towels were rough and there were extra threads allover.

I like the Macy's Martha Stewart towels, oh so soft, colors hold and really durable.  I have several of her towels for over a year and they look like I just bought them.  There are many times that they are on sale and then another 15% off, somewhere around $6 a towel.    Costco has some nice one's too.  Thumbs down for Sam's too, rough, color gone, and takes forever to dry.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

I went through towel H#ll last fall. I bought towels at Macy's, Kohl's, JC Penney, and Walmart, looking for something that wouldn't shred in the wash, pick and pull and lint all over the place.

I spent hundreds of dollars, and EVERYTHING went back tattered after the first wash, except the Better Homes and Gardens ones from Walmart (I know...go figure). Those looked the best of any of them after washing, and were actually prettier too.

I have tried the higher end towels at each of these places and they are all junk. The ones from JC Penney were so bad that they filled the washer with a seaweed like mess, and I had to strain the water before I let the washer empty, as I was afraid it would clog my drains! The ones from Kohl's (I tried three different brand/styles from there) all came out of the first wash (washed alone, cold water) full of picks and runs. I was fit to be tied!

I have a lot of towels, most are vintage from the 70's 80's back in the day when they made a good and long lasting towel. Those look better than new ones after just a couple of washings. The problem is I was looking for a some sets as gifts, and some to hang for 'looks' in the guest bath.

Really good and long lasting linens just can't be found anymore!

I said pretty much the same thing on another thread @Perkup, agree!  The hand towels are a waste for me.

Linda Davies today said the TSV was a response to customers that liked the 12-set washcloths (H205073).  But how can that be when those washcloths are colored in themes (multi-colored sets), and none of those colors match today's TSV, except the white.

They thought to offer shower curtains in the TSV colors (H211026), but not a washcloth set.  Strange.

Re: I Would Have Bought 3 Towel Sets Today

This looks like a good deal IF they perform.   No way to know until you wash, then use & wash again.

I'm very happy with the 100% cotton Fieldcrest towels I purchase from Target.

No easy pay but they run good sales often.  I also like the Target colors better.   The TSV towel colors look so pale.    I do not like pastels.    I like white but if I go for colors, I want them rich & saturated, not pale & washed out.
