Now personally, I haven't tried a Dyson, but I come from a large family and almost all of them have tried one and as of yet no one has liked theirs. Some were able to return it and a few waited too late. So I've heard nothing but complaints from people I trust about Dyson vacuums. Every time I see one presented I'm confused how so many like them.
Why didn't they like them?
I cannot imagine what's not to like, but then we all have our own feelings so I get that. But they work super well. They are well made and easy to maintain. But almost most of all, the company has outstanding customer service.

The main complaint was that they didn't pick up well. My brother and his wife have a golden and they told me it didn't pick up the fur at all. They ended up purchasing another brand (I don't remember which). But I kept hearing, "not good suction, doesn't pick up well". I was going to try one until I heard everyone discussing them. And there are so many different models. I'm not sure which models they have tried but it's confusing that there are so many different ones.

I had the pink breast cancer dyson. The hose was in the handle and the hose ended up breaking. My mom hates hers also. It wouldnt even go over their new carpet. It ripped it out. She has a bissell lift away and loves it. I have the shark rotator and love it. All the attatchments are readily available and it is so light weight. Best thing is half the price of a dyson.

Hi DR! Thanks for your response. I was just curious because, obviously, my experience has been so much different.
I also have a Golden Retriever and, boy howdy, that boy can blow some hair. Plus, I have long, thick hair. While I don't walk around with hair falling out, it sure seems to get around. My Dysons have done really well.
But, due to our hair situation, the DC40 was just not a good choice for us so I could not be more pleased that they traded me up for the DC41. Even my older ones were not the best on this one black rug I have in front of the sliding glass door. The dog hair seems to get woven into that thing.
I would frequently vacuum it and get it mostly clean but when my cleaning lady comes, she could use the attachment and get down on her hands and knees to get it really good. With my new one, however, I can even sukk the hair out of that rug beautifully, so I couldn't be more pleased. Still love my DC25 ones, and the old one that I let her use though. She is very rough on my stuff so I had to tell her that if she kills my old DC07 she is going to have to bring her own, because I'm not going to have her destroying any more of them.
This TSV is probably fine for people without the kind of hair situations some of us have, though. But if somebody is looking, and seriously considering Dyson, I'd definitely recommend the DC41 over this one.

BTW, in all fairness I must say that QVC is being honest about the pricing. This is a good deal for this particular item, compared to what you would pay elsewhere for this machine and these attachments. ![]()

That's strange because it does a spectacular job on collie fur X two, plus an Australian Shepherd. I have four Dysons and would not buy another brand. Those Sharks will do fine for now but I bet in three years, they'll be a distant memory. They just look flimsy and cheap. My oldest Dyson is over 10 years old.
