I absolutely agree. Do not want to guess, why you are hiding the shipping costs, but it is strange and it is inconvinient for us, buyers.

All other retail sites where I shop, and I shop at many, never reveal the shipping costs until you are checking out of your Cart and ready to Checkout.  I only see s/h with the initial item page on other TV shopping sites.

S/h at Checkout:

Nordstrom

Chicos

Macy's

JJill

Land's End

Anthropologie

Dillards

etc.

It seems QVC is just getting in line with other online retailers.  A change some may not like?  Yes.

But nothing shady or unethical about it at all.

Yes, and no.

All these "other sites" calculate the shipping costs individually, according to a total weight, combined number of items on multiple item orders, and/or the distance traveled according to your zip code.

Remember, they are asking you for your zip code before calculating your order's shipping costs?

QVC does not do any of these, they have flat shipping rate, and they do not combine shipping on multiple orders.

No even if you buy two very same items, not even if they are very small size - we'd pay two separate shipping costs.

I would like to see shipping costs on the item page, and not having to do several steps, before seeing item's cost.

@Caaareful Shopper You are absolutely correct. You can add 6pm.com and Costco to that list. So many here like to sing the praises of Amazon. But, if you didn't pay that yearly high prime fee, the shipping is not revealed until the item is in your cart.

Amazon calculates their shipping costs according to where your package is going - your zip code.

QVC charges a FIXED RATE per item.  Most retailers assess shipping using weight, number of items, areas you are shipping to, etc. and can't calculate the amount until you are checking out.

QVC charged a FIXED RATE for EACH item.  I can't think of many retailers who do that.  Especially for clothing.  So it is EASY for QVC to show and be up front about shipping costs as they display each item.  They just don't want to.

This.

This very obvious fact everyone pretends not notice.

I do not understand how intelligent ladies do not see this.

I make almost all of my QVC purchases this way.

That's a good suggestion, but some QVC customers live in areas that don't have internet or cell phone service.

Which then wouldn't matter because they must be watching TV and calling in so they see the S&H on the screen.

Not necessarily.  With all the graphics popping up and disappearing on the screen, it can be difficult to see all the information.

Many of those retailers and others show "free shipping with $.. order" on the main page.

I don't know if anyone has sent a package UPS or even USPS lately, but I send things to family members in California all the time from NY.  It just cost me $17.00 to send my niece a birthday gift that weighed 2lbs and was in a smallish size box--no insurance or any express UPS options.  USPS would have been $12.45 but will take 3 additional days to get there.

The hilarious part is that one of the two things in the box was a JAI silver bracelet I bought here that was $5.50 to ship to me. The other item was a t shirt.  I obviously should have shipped the bracelet to her directly but I wanted to include the t shirt and a card.

Just in case anyone thinks shipping is inexpensive these days.

@Tori3569

I agree!

I hated the Tarte tubing mascara.  Packed it up in a much smaller pouch than I received it in.

Waited in long line cuz I just knew it would be way cheaper not to use the label......

$6.50 I paid.   Label was $6.95.

I waited in line all that time for 45c.....LOL

Do NOT insult the intelligence of people on this board!

You have no way of knowing what we do or do not see or understand.

How condescending!

When shopping online when I go to check out if I don't like the charges I just cancel & close out.

@RespectLife,

I find the tone of your reply extremely condescending, bossy and arrogant, for absolutely no reason for it.

In its entirety, this is a personal attack on me, enhanced by choice of bold red color font.
