Like yourself, I love crisp sheets like we had in the "olden days", lol. They were so much cooler to the touch then the poly blends. I don't like silky or satiny. I used to get 100% cotton, 180TC sheets at J.C. Penny that I loved. I used to iron them too. Not gonna iron them anymore but I would love to find some of those sheets the way they used to be. I have googled and searched and tried many but none compare.
@Annabellethecat66 wrote:Ahhhhh!!! Funny you should mention that. You see that was one of the 'several' things I'd ordered over a period of a few days that WERE SENT TO MY DAUGHTER IN FLORIDA.
Not by my choice but because a QVC order taker changed (on her own) my address to my daughter's address. So, everything I ordered automatically (which I usually do) ended up at her house. I live in Va!
Anyway, I usually wash the sheets first and then take them to my dry cleaners and get pressed. I don't like any wrinkles on the sheets and like them a little stiff (like in a hospital).
I would like to do that with these if I every received them. I will say I've ordered from QVC in the past 1000 thread count sheets also. I said I wasn't going to order the higher count sheets anymore because it makes my washer go crazy (lop-sided) they are so heavy. But, obviously, I changed my mind.

Was going to purchase them but didnt as I wondered also about the quality for the price. I like to touch things (especially sheets) before buying them although mail is much easier. Im sorry they were not good for you and makes me feel better that I didnt take the plunge as I was tempted. LOL @Annabellethecat66 I live in Va too!

@Stormygirl I live right outside of Washington, DC. As you know anyone who lives in Va NEVER wants to hear "You live in D.C.?" or "Do you live in Maryland". I guess we Virginian's are snobs! Ha!

I always wash anything fabric that I buy. First of all the manufacturers use something called "sizing" that is infused into fabrics, especially lower-grade fabrics. It is usually washed out after the first washing and what's left is the fabric you're going to keep. It's at that time you really see what the fabric is going to be like and the lesser grade fabrics will really look poor..... and the sizing can be itchy and stiff. You can buy a can of spray sizing, and that will sometimes help the fabric regain some of it's "guts".... but it is in no way the same as what the manufacturers put into the material when it's made.
So if you buy sheets (or a garment) that you really like the feel of it and you wash it and wonder what in gawd's name happened to my sheets/garment because they come out of the washer/dryer looking like a cheap old limp rag.... that's usually the reason! ![]()

@Annabellethecat66 I live in south central Virginia not too far from Petersburg. Oh Wow so you prob live near Alexandria area. I once was stationed at Ft Belvoir Va in the 1980's. I go to Stafford once every 3 months to get my spinal interthecal pain pump filled. Is about 2 hour drive. Yea if I lived in Va I wouldnt want anyone to say I was from DC LOL. I love the mountains in Va....very pretty.

@Stormygirl Yes, you are right about the beauty of the mountains in Va. My neighbor has relatives that live in the Blue Ridge area.
Right now with all of rain everything is so green and thick. I can just imagine how beautiful it is in the mountains where you are.

I ordered a king-size set in yellow when they were the TSV and had to wait two weeks for them, all the while I was very excited because I've never seen sheets in that color yellow and thought the threadcount and price was very good. While waiting for the past few weeks, all I've read are horrible reviews, and I forgot to try to cancel my order. The sheets arrived today, and I'm on the fence about whether or not to open the package. Most people complained of a bad smell so I braced myself while I unzipped the packaging. Nothing too horrible, I thought, it'll just wash out. (I wash all linens and towels before using.) I didn't open the package...not sure if I should just return tomorrow...but the color sure does looks great. I'm waitlisted for a different sheet set on Wayfair, and I was able to only order the fitted sheet that I need. I think I'll just return these to QVC and wait for the Wayfair sheet. (Heavy sigh) After waiting a few weeks, this is very disappointing that it will cost me money to return what appears to be a substandard, inferior product. Shame, shame on QVC's Quality Assurance people.

I am so sick of expensive, wimpy, wrinkly, "soft" cotton sheets.
I ordered the travel MyPillow set with 60/40 cotton/poly pillow cases. I liked them immediately when I touched them. They were smooth and cool, but with some body. I've used them daily and washed them weekly about six times. They come out perfect every time, as if they had been ironed.
Then the Q offered this TSV with a 60/40 cotton/poly blend. I jumped on it - but I got the advanced order, so I still don't have them. Meanwhile, I've been reading the awful reviews and wondering - oh dear, what have I done?
Yesterday I received the matching King Pillow Cases I ordered, because I use both queen and king pillows. It was love at first touch. They are exactly like the cases that came with MyPillows. They are smooth against my cheek and I'm no longer fussing about the wimpy, clammy feel of that old - expensive - Egyptian-cotton fabric against my skin.
Now when my advanced order arrives, I will throw out all my old sheets. I will also order more colors - so Q - keep it up. You done good with this one... ![]()

I haven't opened my sheets yet. Kinda freaked with all the bad reviews until reading yours. Think - hope - I will like them (ordered mint and lavender).
May I suggest, instead of throwing out your old sheets perhaps you would consider donating them to an animal rescue. They will find so many uses for them and are grateful for used towels, rags, blankets and linens - just a thought.
