Very surprised that this Paperwhite offering on the Q today doesn't include any extras -- no screen protectors, no cover, no Kindle Unlimited. Nothing more than the device & charging cable.

We got the Signature Edition (a step up from this model) for this same price of $129 during this past weekend's sale on Amazon.

Love my Kindles! I have 2, plus the app on my laptop and my iPhone.

Re: Amazon Kindle TSV - December 4, 2024

@Zoe Wow, you got a great deal! I could use a newer Kindle, but am passing on this TSV. I read too many bad reviews on Amazon. Some are having a "Kindle yellow screen problem", where part of the screen appears yellow where it shouldn't. You can google it. If you order one, check it when it arrives to make sure it works properly instead of putting it under the Christmas tree. I might wait until later in 2025 to upgrade. I really like the pink color! @Zoe yes I agree, where are all the upsells of jackets or flippy tablet stands or whatever? Maybe we'll see that later in the day.

Re: Amazon Kindle TSV - December 4, 2024

@scrapperlisaWe did get a good deal. We were aggressively stalking it for a few months.

We've had very good luck with our Kindles, and Amazon has stood behind their product without any issue. Our OG Kindle died a little over a year after we got it. Amazon not only replaced it without any question pushback but also credited us for the accessories we had bought. So, if we have this screen issue (which we're really not worried about), our experience has been that Amazon stands behind their product. YMMV.

Everyone in our circle has a Kindle, and not one of them has this problem. We also read in dark mode > 75% of the time.

Re: Amazon Kindle TSV - December 4, 2024

I was looking for a new Kindle in September or early October and they said nothing new on the horizon.  I just saw that Kindle Colorsoft came out October 30th.  The Kindle TSV with the new colors made me check Amazon again.  Glad I did, but the Colorsoft will not ship for 3-5 weeks.

I love my Kindle Oasis, but I have had it since 2019 and thought I needed to get a new Kindle.  I use it almost every day.  It is still going strong, so that Colorsoft steep price is a little offsetting especially since reviews are saying something about a yellow light at the bottom of the screen.  I also use my Oasis buttons to turn the page instead of the touchscreen.  I like that feature better, but all the kindles now go just on the touchscreen.

I have the Kindle Signature as well.  I love it!  No yellow spots at all.

Whether you get the TSV at 16GB, or the Signature at 32GB, I hope you'll love it too.

More electronics. Question? How can I find out where these are made? Thanks to all.

I have had Kindles for years. I don’t have this one, but if anyone has been on the fence about getting a Kindle, they are IMO so worth the investment if you enjoy reading. Even if you think you are too “old school” to like reading with an e-reader you may be very pleasantly surprised. The convenience, features and mobility are big pluses for me. Just a plug for Kindles in general not necessarily the TSV.

Re: Amazon Kindle TSV - December 4, 2024

Still using my very old Kindle Keyboard purchased at Best Buy for $69. A little slow at downloading books and no backlight, but I love the buttons for turning pages. So much easier than a touch screen for me. When they come up with a new version with buttons I will buy.
