TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

Is anyone else disappointed in the changes they made to Floral Lace?

I first noticed it on the new dinnerware pattern (the painted in lines in the borders rather than the etched floral pattern).  I was looking for gifts on the TT website and realized that the spoon rests also have the lines painted on the outside of the bowl and handle of the spoon rest.

I think this takes away from the pattern.  If I wanted a painted pattern, I would have chosen one of the other patterns.

Really bummed!!

Re: TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

I agree @LINDA ELIZABETH - I see piano keys when I see those stripes.  I like pianos, but it doesn't work for me - seems busy -  on the new version of floral lace.  There are still some cute things on QVC.com and the TT site in the original pattern, but who knows what may change in the future.  Q has had the utensil holders in the "as is" section for 9.50, often in the old FL - I find them useful and could be a nice gift.  There's still a set of the spoon rests on Tara's site (but only in light blue) in the clearance section, at just 9.99.

Happy shopping.  I may need to see if I need any more pieces on the old pattern while (we think) they are still available.

Re: TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

I have noticed this exact thing @Sweetbay magnolia @LINDA ELIZABETH . The Blue Floral Lace is my all time favorite. The addition of those new stripes totally takes away the country look that I like...it looks totally off. The 4 piece place setting also looks off because the inside of thee bowls are the white w floral lace while the inside of the plates are the blue....?... I too went to Tara's sight several weeks ago and noticed that there are not a big selection. I was gong to jump on the spoon rest until I seen it was only in 1 color. I did purchase and just got in a set of the 16oz mugs...I wanted the taller carafe style...but there ya go again...those weird strips 😳 I did also receive a set of the sugar and creamer set. It is adorable. I have a feeling that the older style Floral Lace is being faded out for the new stripes...besides who wants the floral lace with these geometrical stripes !!! If I want that style I'll stick with the Old World 😳

Re: TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

@Jifner1956@LINDA ELIZABETH, I have now found reason for ordering another napkin holder in FL (lime).  The one with the little bird's nest S&P shakers (K41676).  I have one in red already - works perfectly on my table.  needed this one for spring, and heaven forbid it should not be available then.

I hope the original FL sticks around.  I'm glad I got a dinnerware set in FL green (it's a "vivid" version and I really like it - same pattern, enlarged).  And I like mixing OW and FL - I agree, Jifner, if you need a geometrical pattern OW is there.  I can't see mixing OW and the new FL.  My astigmatism would go crazy.

Have a great day!Smiley Happy

Re: TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

I can't see why she had to mess with a perfect FL design!

The new version of this is just a hot mess, in my opinion. It tries to combine modern geometric designs with elegant and formal. The result, to me, is a nightmare.

I think she will continue to offer things in the old style, and quite frankly I'm glad every time she offers this newer style, because it saves me money and space!

Hope those who like it get all the offerings they need to finish their kitchens, as the most frustrating thing is when they stop a design before you can complete a set.

Re: TEMP-TATIONS.COM FLORAL LACE

I am relatively new to TT and the first time I saw it was with the stripes.  I remember thinking, "Gross, why didn't they just mak the whole thing with the flowers". I mean who combines big chunky irregular stripes with elegant curved florals?  Like a tuxedo with clown pants.  Yuck.  If she wanted to design a border for the floral lace pieces, she should have come up with something in a complimentary pattern.  I wasn't a big fan of OW for myself, but it's a nice pattern in the right setting.  Then I started seeing the all-over floral lace pieces.  Now, I am a purple fanatic so I was immediately drawn to eggplant, but WHAT!?!, brown trim?  Gross.  LOL  I thought, "Maybe I'm just not in the right generation for this stuff."  I like purple with just about any other color... but brown??  To be honest, I didn't much care for the brown trim on any of them.  Now I see that the FL Eggplant doesn't have brown on it.  Yay, they must have read my mind. Smiley Happy Or else I'm just a normal purple fanatic and lots of others felt the same way. (Or my computer monitors are messed up and not displaying brown next to purple any more.)  So I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set.
