I recently finished watching "Breaking Bad," which I absolutely loved.  It was so good that I found myself having to go quickly to the next episode to see what happened.

I was looking for another great series and "The Wire" was recommended.  I am on episode 5 of season 1 and find the show going very slowly and I am not invested in the characters.

Does the show pick up in later episodes and is it worth spending  time on?

@Mersha I don't know the first thing about "The Wire".  However if you enjoyed "Breaking Bad" ...(I don't usually enjoy violent shows but it is  one of the best and so well done!). You might enjoy Ozark.

Ozark is a series on Netflix which also involves a family and drug dealers.  They move from Chicago to the Ozarks in Missouri to launder money for a Mexican drug lord.  It's very well done and like Breaking Bad you just have to know what happens next!!

@haddon9   I loved Ozark too and can't wait for the next installment.

The writing and characters in that show were amazing and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I used to watch The Wire when it was originally broadcast. I liked it but mainly because it was filmed in many of the neighborhoods of Baltimore City where I spent most of my life. I would call out all the time..."we used to hang out there or "oh Grandmom used to walk to that store", etc.  It was ok but not great.

@Mersha I also tried watching The Wire and it didn't hold my Interest. I only watched a few episodes and got bored with it. I probably didn't give a good chance so maybe in the future. I loved Breaking Bad and agree with everyone else about Ozark. Great show and it grabs you immediately.

I watched The Wire a few years back.  I will agree with the recommendation for Ozark.  Really like this seriesCan't wait to see more.  I've always enjoyed Jason Bateman.  Loved Arrested Development.

@Mersha , another vote for Ozawa.  If someone described it to me, I would not have watched it.  The acting is very good.  Give it a try.  S
