"The Way We Were" Monday 8PM ET TCM

"The Way We Were" (1973)!!!! is on TCM at 8pm ET Monday Feb 14...

 


Robert Redford was SO handsome when he was young!! (Still is!!)

 

1973. Sheeesh.....!!!

 

 

Great movie for Valentine's Day!!

 

Love the song....

 

Enjoy if you watch it!!!

 

And right after is "Brief Encounter" from 1945...my Mom's favorite movie ( she is passed now, at 95 in 2015)...I always wondered if she was remembering a "brief encounter" during the War years because she really loved that movie and it seemed to make her sad....

Brief Encounter good film, the soundtrack !!!

"Brief Encounter" is my favorite romantic movie of all time -- my 96-year-old mother's (and my late Dad's) as well.  And the Rachmaninoff concerto that runs as a theme throughout it is sheer perfection.  Every time I watch it, I find something new to appreciate.

Ask your Mom WHY it's her favorite....my Mom is gone now, but she always was wistful and sad when she watched and would never say why...this was someone very stoic..

 

Agree with the soundtrack!!!

 

I always used to make fun of the lead actress with that hat and the droopy expression....how I wish my Mom were still here to watch it one more time with her.....

 

 

Must have something to do with the WW2 years and some memory it evoked.....

Especially the last scene when he sees Katie as he gets out of the taxi with his new girl! That last hug when he asked about their daughter -so romantic! ❤️
