Tully movie staring Charlise Theron/Mackenzie Davis

This movie is apparently nominated for an Academy Award or maybe two.

Charlise Theron plays an overwhelmed mom with three children and a disinterested husband.

Mackenzie Davis plays a “night nanny” who is paid to come into the home and take care of just almost everything...thereby giving the mom a break.

The film has a unique twist

Spoiler
Mackenzie Davis is really a young Charlise Theron.

I am wondering if watching this movie has been good or bad for women of about the same age and in this situation (before I recommend it to our DD.)

Oh my gosh. I watched it and didn't get it at all. Wow!! Now that I know the twist, I see it in a different light. I wasn't overly impressed but now I get the significance of it all.

It has not been nominated for an Oscar.  Charlize Theron does give an oscar caliber wonderful performance as a mother of two small children, an unsupportive husband, and pregnant with a third child.  Her wealthy brother offers her as a gift because she is so exhausted the services of a night person to care for the baby so she can get some sleep. She turns down the gift.  After the baby is born though, she is so exhausted and overwhelmed she accepts her wealthy brothers offer.  I enjoyed the movie.

This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen knowing or not knowing the twist.....just poorly done.  Gave it a 2 on Netflex.
