Actually, I always thought she was the most beautiful of all.

I always thought she was the great beauty. However, look at her young pictures. Somehow, her face always looked grown up even when in her teens and even in National Velvet!

That's a darn good start! I agree with most.  I remember ages ago, I think it was either Ben Nye or one of the Westmores-he said the most beautiful actress without make up was Eleanor Parker. Just naturally beautiful he said.

I think Lana Turner when she was young and before they bleached her hair. She was a doll.

Loved Claudette Colbert's looks.

Simone Signoret

Loretta Young

So many that were mentioned here-so no need to mention again.

@Judaline

Max Factor came out with the first makeup made especially for the hot lights of film sets and stages.   That makeup was Max Factor Pancake (water based) makeup applied with a sponge, and the MF Pan Stick (oil based) that also later sold in drug stores.    Those makeups were HEAVY and could cover pimples, acne, and whatever.   The scent was great, though.   Every actress looked absolutely perfect!

Many moons ago, I worked at Max Factor & Co and got to see all the theatrical makeup and tools circa 1920's.  Mr. Factor said "You are not born glamorous, Glamour is created.

Many decades later the Factor great grandsons, Dean and Davis Factor,  started their own makeup company .... Smashbox Cosmetics.

Lucille Ball

Merle Oberon

Linda Darnell

Yvonne DeCarlo - and just about all the actresses found in the film The Ten Commandments.

If you want to really be blown away, look up images of a young Francis Bavier - yes, Aunt Bee from the Andy Griffith show. She was very pretty.
