I watched The Walking Dead from the beginning. I always thought the first few seasons were the very best. The show suffered when Rick left, and really took a dive after Michonne departed. I still continued to watch, but I stopped right after the character of Princess came on the scene. By that time I grew bored of the show; they brought in new characters that I had no interest in. I also hated that so many scenes took place at night and I couldn't tell what was going on. Plus all the commercials!!
Out of curiosity I did watch the finale and even though I didn't know who some of the characters were, I did enjoy it. I thought they wrapped up the series pretty well.
It was interesting to see the tease of what Rick and Michonne were up to.
A few random thoughts . . . I always thought that The Governor was much scarier than Negan ever was. Negan was a total snooze fest. All the character did was lean his body back and pontificate, Lather, rinse, repeat. They dragged his story out for far too long. Ditto with Alpha and The Whisperers. Negan and Alpha - the two MOST annoying characters. Ever.
I'm glad to see that Ezekiel and Jerry made it out alive.
I also watched The Talking Dead. It was wonderful to see Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) come on stage and present the flowers to Christian Serratos (Rosita). It was so emotional when Ross Marquand spoke of how grateful he was to be on the show and was finding it hard not to break down in tears. I was surprised that Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori) was there. She's been off the show for so long. It was great to see Chandler Riggs (Carl)!! He's so grown up . . . and such a cutie.
Although they didn't appear on the panel, some former cast members were at the finale event, among them Emily Kinney (Beth) and Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon).
