What a great way to end the series.  I was so impressed how respectful the show was of law enforcement.  Great characters and actors.  We will miss it.

I will miss it as well. However, this last season was not my favorite. I think they had different writers due to the writer’s strike at the time. I’ve watched this show from the beginning and watch reruns endlessly with my husband. The writing for this last season was off. The characters would not talk like this. As a result, I didn’t enjoy this season. Also, I didn’t understand why Erin and Jack didn’t announce their news.

I enjoyed the finale, and like how it ended, except for the one death. It was nice to see everyone there, and glad they featured grandson Joe in the storyline.   I am sad it is over and will miss it on Friday nights. having watched since the first episode.

My thought was that after Eddie and Jamie announced their own news, Erin didn't want to take any attention away from them at that particular happy time.  She was doing it out of respect for her brother and his wife.

@lcubedsudbury - My guess is that Erin and Jack didn't want to take away the excitement over Jamie and Eddy's news and let them have their moment.

I understand, but considering this was the last episode, both announcements could have been celebrated. They’re a close knit family and adults after all.

I plan to watch reruns on other channels if they are still offered.

Erin had stated when proposing it to Jack that they keep it low key--just a courthouse ceremony. So I thought since the baby news was announced she didn't want to steal any thunder. I know the writers had a lot to cram in the hour , but it seems a mention of it to Eddie's parents would have been nice.

I enjoyed the finale. I do not think any tears they had were acted.

@Estellee - If you have the ION TV channel, they usually air Blue Bloods on Wednesdays.
