A few thoughts on the show:

Dr. Faerie has decided Trent needs to have his appendix examined.  They can't find the root of the problem, and the location of the pain doesn't make sense, but check it anyway.  I know two people who had intense weird pain and it was their appendix.

Also, I agree that the older son has real anger/resentment issues.

They seem to throw Anna under the bus a lot. I get that she has problems, but I don't think all of America needs to know how they are struggling to get her on track.  It seems hurtful to me.

@faeriemoon  I didn't get to see the entire show but saw most of it. I definitely believe Jonah would benefit from counseling. I'm pleased to hear they're seeking it for him. I wonder how Anna will do being away from home and if she's had any type of counseling. I'm not surprised she acts as she does having read stories about babies and young children adopted from Russia. I don't think they even allow Americans to adopt from there anymore because people were wanting to return the children due to the severe issues they experienced.

@colliemom4  I've heard that too.  Also issues with that fetal alcohol syndrome.

They do seem kind of in a hurry to rush Anna off to college. If indeed they have had problems with her, maybe community college close to home would be good for her. She said she wasn't sure if she wants to leave home.

I am wtching the replay this morning.  I am not understanding why they are sending her off to school.  She has made not so smart choices in the past (which we are never aware of what those choices have been)  I remember she got into trouble at the LP convention she was caught in someones room doing something.  She had driving taken away never knew what she did.  If she is not making good choices and she does not want to leave I am not understanding why they are sending her two hours away.  I know they must have good reasons they have always displayed good parenting skills.  I guess if Anna is not ready they will know quickly.

I think they are sending Anna away to school so she will have to deal with the real world and consequences if she messes up. She wants her independence but she needs to learn that mom and dad won't be able to fix every mess she makes.  I have read over the years that Anna has been in a lot of trouble not the minor teen things mentioned on the show.  She was expelled from her last high school, not for the graffiti incident mentioned on the show but far more serious things. . She has had therapy and counseling since she was pretty young.    I like Trent and Amber and I'm sure they really downplay the issues with Anna.  She was adopted at a very young age and has been surrounded by love her whole life so I'm not buying that this goes back to the orphanage. The other kids were all adopted at a young age too and don't have the chronic behavioral issue's Anna does.

They even say they want her to learn independence.

I think they had to work very hard to teach her not to be a follower.  She used to easily be talked into following someone.

I love watching this family.  I don't understand why the other Little People on the other show have specialists who mainly know how to work on Little People and the Johnston family just see regular Drs.

I kept thinking, "I wonder if her back problem is indicative to something that specifically happens to Little People.

I know all about back problems.  I see a specialist every 3 weeks for mine.  But I would think Little People have a lot more problems than the average person.

At least that's the way it is with the other show.  That's what they say on their show.

There are several TV shows with Little People in them but this one (as far as I'm concerned) is number one.

I adore all of them but Trent is my favorite.

I believe that Jonal sp/  talking to that doctor last night on the show...really helped him...Anna isn't his problem  its Trent and his wifes responsiblity!

I think when they or he finds the right school he will be ok and get good grades...aslo finding a part time job...and his parents agreeded.

It's a step in the right direction for all!

sorry i need to edit Jonah's name..had a hard time spelling it right..sorrySmiley Very Happy

@cowboy sam  As he was talking to the doctor I felt sorry for Jonah. Amber's ready to send him off to a trade school when it sounds like he was always a good student and is doing well in college except for in math. It does appear that they are putting too much responsibility on him. As the doctor said, Anna is not his problem. I don't know what they'll end up doing with her. She may continue to be a problem. I wonder if they've tried medication for her? I don't know what her exact issues are but it may help her.

A lot of their parenting style leaves a lot to be desired.
