Is anyone here actually from North Carolina and can speak to the accuracy of Parker Posey's accent in Season 3 of The White Lotus??
She said she modeled the accent after a well-known socialite from Southern Charm; I am guessing she means Patricia Altshul (who actually has a home decor line on HSN!)
Posey's slow drawl and pronunciation is absolutely wild!

I worked for a Southern-based company...and I can guarantee you that NO TWO "accents" are the same...

Oh yeah...    I am from the City of Chicago, and speak very differently from my suburban relatives.

I've seen a couple of articles about her accent.  As a New Yorker, I can attest to the fact that there are many different "New Yawk" accents and I extend that courtesy to the rest of the country.

In Maryland,  accents  can vary county to county .

I am from where I think they are supposed to be from going by the Duke, UNC references.  I do have a slight accent, at least when I listen to voicemails I've left to DH.  He has a much more distinct accent.  To me, I hear Southern Charm accents more than NC.  Poppy has Patricia down perfectly and her hubby sounds alot like Shep, the kids don't have much of an accent.  By the way I love both shows.

I've not seen the show but I saw an interview where one of the men said he modeled his accent after Thomas Ravenel of Southern Charm.

I love the series White Lotus, but everytime Parker Posey opens her mouth, I want to turn the show off.  Can't stand listening to the way she talks on this show.
