What memories for me!! I saw the orginal on Broadway in 1963 with my parents, I was 10 years old. It starred Barbara Cook, Daniel Massey, son of Raymond, Jack Cassidy and Barbara Baxley.  Adorable!! My parents bought the cast album and we listened to it all the time, one darling song I remember besides the title song was one called Vanilla Ice Cream!!

Enjoyed it very much!! When I saw it in 1963, Kodaly was played by Jack Cassidy, he must have been perfect as the womanizer.

I watched, and while I enjoyed it, there was only one song I knew. A good musical has songs that stay with you, leaving the theater. The show originally premiered in 1963, at that time there were much better lyrics and music back then.
