Re: Reinventing Elvis:The ‘68 Comeback

I'm just now starting to get over that Austin Butler .. and the Elvis movie

did not win the Academy Award ... If that wasn't an acting job I don't

know what would be ....

Have always loved Elvis ....Also there is a book out .. Destined to Die

Young about the health of Elvis .. out of 13 systems in our bodies

he had defects in 9 of them .. A great read ...

Also thanks for this trip down memory lane ....

@Big Joanie,

I agree about Austin Butler-he was absolutely amazing! What a performance!

You know its one thing to portray a fictional character ... but to play a real

person with that accuracy is a totally different ball game ....

@KBEANS...My brother was 15 years older than me and was, like your mom, a huge fan of Elvis and so, as a little girl, I grew up listening to his music because of my brother.

He loved trying to imitate him and entertained the entire family...lol

Elvis was gorgeous and an entertainer like no other!

Elvis singing Old Shep just destroys me whenever I hear it. Tears every time. Loved Elvis. Still do.

Corazón de Canción: Elvis Presley - Burning Love (letra en inglés y traducción en español)

I was chatting with a group of future university students on campus for my college orientation and someone walked up to us and told us Elvis was dead.

For a moment we thought it was a joke but it wasn't.

He was definitely a hunk of burning love. Heart

Re: Reinventing Elvis:The ‘68 Comeback

Well, I’ll just say it. 🫣

Elvis is OK. I appreciate his impact on music. I do like his gospel songs very much and I like some early Elvis.

But Vegas Elvis in those polyester jumpsuits and the song arrangements were just awful. 🫥 It just seems like a sad caricature.
