'The Doctor' was about this doctor who was a bit of a jerk and then he ended up very sick and had to become a patient.   He learned a lot with going from the self-centered doctor that he was to being a patient and ended up running with it, after his illness, to help other doctors see the POV from the other side of the spectrum.   Lahti was pretty amazing in this, too!  Highly recommend this movie.

@chickenbutt, Oh yes, I remember that one.

Christine Lahti was in one with Mary Tyler Moore and Ted Danson too, that was good. Title escapes me.

I absolutely love that movie, I own it as well. Gene Tierney is a gem and the musical score is superb. Every time I think of it the ocean comes alive.

Re: Rarely mentioned good movies.

If a made-for-tv movie counts, “Finnegan Begin Again” is lovely.

Lately I’ve been struck by the lack of lovely romances featuring people of a certain age, and this is a very sweet example of that very specific genre.

If you can find it, it’s a charmer.

Body Heat!  Kathleen Turner was so seductive!  Loved it when she said to William Hurt

"You're not too bright, are you?  I like that in a man!"

Also loved Breaking Away and same time next year!

A recent "little movie"  called "Chef" was great if you ever get the chance to see it.

"Regarding Henry" with Harrison Ford and Annette Bening.

White Squall with Jeff Bridges - he takes prep school kids to Sea to teach them discipline and survival when they encounter a few surprises

Soylent Green - Charlton Heston and Edward G.....futuristic, contaminated and starving NYC....got me to thinking way back then!

"Body Heat."

Favorite scenes:

Ted Danson dancing on the boardwalk, light as a feather.

Hurt darting straight up from his cot in jail . . . "She's alive!"

I should buy it because I'm always trying to find it on TV.  Kathleen Turner was at her most beautiful, and she plays a villain so perfectly.
