I was excited to watch this series as I read the books years ago.  However, I was very bored with it.  I made it through the first episode but that is enough for me.

i wrote a longer opinion , but that is how i felt , i am going to finish , but it should had been good, with the cast , but it just isn't compelling.

I don't have Prime Video so not watching the series, but based on reading many of the books I agree that the casting is not how I pictured the characters, especially Marino (yes, I thought he was supposed to be heavier and paunchy).  I thought Benton was supposed to be older, and I pictured Scarpetta more like Patricia Cornwell.

@sueinsf Bingo! When I read what you said, I realized that's how I pictured Scarpetta, too.

@shoekitty  Thanks for the reminders about Lucy. As for her wealth, she created and sold some valuable computer software when she was quite young.

In the books, Scarpetta is a blonde and older Pete is bald but was really working out at the gym I think.

Pretty sure Lucy was a redhead????  Def not bi-racial.

I think Nicole Kidman is doing a good job with this character.  The Benton character just isn't apealling to me, too short and too unfaithful, but personally and professionally.

Did NOT like how the last episode ended the season.

@shoekitty   I really enjoyed reading the books.   All the interesting things are on streaming platforms that we don't subscribe to
