Still undecided about watching the series...not crazy about kidman.

Didn't care for back and forth. Used to love the books. My old brain couldn't take the switching. Those that are excited about this series, Enjoy.

@Somertime I don't watch Prime a lot , but I did get the ad free. As a rule I keep it for a couple months , I binge on all I want to watch, then I discontinue. When you cancel it cancels asap. I went for a couple months without it. Then signed up again. I have this series and another to watch then I will cancel for a while. I am a little torn about the series. I think Nicole plays Kay a little shyer or softer than I imagined her. I just finished first episode. I hope it gets more into murders, lol than family crud. Lol

What did you all think of the last episode? Jamie Lee Curtis was terrific as her sister and Robert Cannavale is great in everything!!

I would be interested in this if it was not Nicole Kidman. It's not that I don't like her acting it's just she is so over saturated IMO. I would just see her and not the character.

@Nancy Drew I agree. There is something I about her acting style and posture I do not care for. But I have to say, although she doesn't embody the character of Kay Scarpetta(as I imagine her) she does a decent job. Her face has changed, lol! Almost doesn't look like her old mid-aged self in the face. Her body seems the same. Deep sigh here, lol! Her face actually seems softer, not so chisled, and marble like. It is pleasant.especially her mouth, tht is the most changed. I didn't recognize her at first...but I don't watch her much either. For me, in the role of Kay Scarpetta I actually see Angie Harmon.... the walk, the sass, the messiness, drinking. The brains. Lol

@meem120 I think Jamie did okay. She was a little strong, I feel like her character may have been played over the top a bit. But Jamie did good. My personal opinion is I like to watch the murders part, tracing clues, and the forensics ....more than I do family dynamics. But, I have only watched first episode. I am sure they are setting characters up. The reviews were mixed for sure.

DH has read her books and then some reviews that weren't too thrilled with how much this series has deviated from them.
We just sat down to watch the first episode. I lasted 15 minutes and was done. As I said to him "I don't do gory!" Give me a great Agatha Christie any day.
He wasn't impressed enough to finish watching it either.

Lucy isn't how I pictured her at all, I don't remember her having dark hair and features. I pictures Marino different also. I actually pictured them all different.
