If you like films about "passing" try Lost Boundaries.

BTW: My stylist did not know the meaning of the word Passing.

Oh, I had forgotten about this movie!  Didn't catch it this time, but have seen it many, many times before.  One of my favorites and definitely a tear jerker!

The movie Pinky is better.

Never heard of this one.

Tell us about it!

Pinky is an excellent movie starring Jeanne Crain.  She was nominated for an academy award for it.  I wouldn't really compare it to Imitation of Life, though, except for the sub plot of the light skinned African American daughter.

I love Imitation of Life.  Bring on the Kleenex!

I agree, it is a wonderful movie!

There is a later version with Lana Turner that is just as good, if not better.  Also, Troy Donahue has a small role as a bad boyfriend.

You must see it.  Lana is killer, but Juanita Moore, who plays Annie, will break your heart.  She died in 2014 at 99!

That is the one I saw yesterday on  Turner Classic!  Smiley Happy

Always thought Sandra Dee was so cute, remember Gidget!  But "Annie" was the real star in this movie!!

Another tearjerker is coming up on Feb. 16th.  Don't miss MADAME X with Lana Turner and John Forsythe.  One of her best.....

Imitation of Life - what a great story!!  Saw it again today...can't get thru it without the tissue box next to me!! One of those stories you love to hate. Feel so sad for Annie...

Oh I am so mad---I taped the 2 movies that were on back to back.  What did I go and do-----I hit delete instead of keep till I delete.  Lost them both.

Grrrrr

She was referring ot the 1959 version with Turner, older one is from 1934 with Claudette Colbert.
