Re: My 600-lb life Schenee.. aired 4-4-2018

After reading all of the posts, I don't have much to say as all of you have said everything that I feel about last night.

I guess it's a good thing my TV doesn't have any feelings because I spent most of the time yelling at it LOL.

She was thankless for the opportunities given to her; while I felt for Freddie, I've reconsidered.  There has to be some reason he is staying with her which I'm guessing her disability checks.

Re: My 600-lb life Schenee.. aired 4-4-2018

I heard her make a statement that she took care of her husband financially.  While I'm sure that TLC pays for everything during the filming, I'd bet the taxpayers are paying for her and possibly the husband as a caregiver.  She was an extremely controlling young woman who probably will hit 1000 lbs before her body gives out.  She still is young but I doubt her heart and other organs can carry that much weight.  I'm always amazed that these people on the show always blame everybody else and every event in their past for their issues.  I take sole responsibility for my weight issues.  Several of my family members have major weight issues and their has not been abuse, drug or alcohol problems in the past.  We made or make bad choices.  This young woman is her own worst enemy.

I don't even know what to say.  Usually I feel sorry for the people on that show, but she made me crazy.

I actually think the first thing these morbidly obese people on this show should be doing is to go to counseling, not be handed a 1200 calorie diet. And of course, I'm assuming a big check from TLC.

I remember the doctor mentioning that she's only 5'1".    Considering her weight in the 700 realm, that's just way beyond.  ITA that she's not going to last much longer.

It's probably like maybe a 5'10" guy weighing 900lbs.

She was asked g Freddy to bring her the bleach.  It was in the first part of the program, did she wash herself with It?  Am I mistaking?  Did anyone else catch this?

In the UK they have a program like this. One man actually remortgaged his home ,to get extra money to buy food. I think this is as bad as drug addiction, maybe worse..It disgusts me, but I still feel pity for these people. Life must be awful, if food is your only comfort or pleasure

@StephaniM, I am not for sure but I think she diluted the bleach with water and wet a wash cloth and was using it on her arms.  I can't even begin to imagine him having to bath her and all she could do was to complain.  Talk about a broken man- she did that to him & he just caved in to her wants & needs..

Oddly, just today (after watching this particular episode), I was thinking about how much it must cost to feed somebody who eats that much.  I thought about the average intake for a human per day should be 2,000 or less calories.  If they are eating up to 60,000 calories per day that's like feeding 30 people!     The cost has to be astronomical.

Even junk food, that many think is much cheaper than eating regular food, isn't that cheap if one person is eating enough for quite a few people.

@Suziepeach  Yes, she did dilute the bleach with water and started washing herself with a washcloth, all the time, berating him for never helping her.  I think Freddie needs to "man up" and get himself a real job and stop living off her disability checks and find himself a girl who appreciates him.  He seems like a nice, likeable guy.

BTW, the last series (I forgot her name) the girl whose boyfriend's name is Tim....... Now, that's a real man.  He did everything for her, had respect for her and didn't take advantage.  He was a true gentleman too.  He ran ahead of her to get the door and held it open, prepared and served her meals AND had a full time job too.  I really liked him.  He had a drug addiction (that's how they met) and he's recovering now.  He's also a nice looking guy.  They really care for each other and he did everything he could to help her.  JMO

[ Edited ]

Here's another thing I don't understand.  The apartment this couple lived in (in Houston) looked like a dump in the worst section of the city.  No furniture, no nothing.

In that other segment with the girl and Tim, they were living in either an apartment, or renting a house that was really nice.  It was two floors, fully furnished, the kitchen was large with granite countertops and brand new (looked like) appliances.  Two leather couches among other furniture and no laundry or junk lying around.  Two large flat screen TV's, etc.....  I also noticed there were crayon drawings that kids make - taped all around the kitchen, so I think this might have been a rental or just something for TLC to use, for the show??  It looked familiar to me, as though another couple used it on a different show.  JMO though

So, who pays for all this and why are some living quarters better than others?  Tim had a job in their original home and also when they moved to Houston.  How do these people just up and move, whether they have jobs or not, unless he managed to get a job transfer.  At least, he did the packing and driving.

Also, has anyone else noticed that most of the obese people are the ones who drive.  Their boyfriends/husbands usually sit in the passenger seat, ala Freddie - or they have relatives or friends going along with them and helping with the driving.
