I'm wondering if the security guy is going to dig into Mattie's background 🤔.

@Tinkrbl44Senior is a sly old fox so I bet he could put him up to it if he thought something was fishy about Maddie.

@Estellee  @Tinkrbl44   Also Maddie's grandson is a hacker.  Because of him "Maddie" has a "history" on & off the www.

Even Kathy Bates cannot keep this tanker afloat.

The trial about the restaurant was a boring time filler.

Dragging out this storyline into a second season with really nothing new other than the appearance of Alfie's father is a yawn 🥱.

They have to do a lot of re-writing to navigate around the Billy departure, so this could really go in any direction.

I'm giving this show the benefit of the doubt for Season 2.

Well, after watching last week's episode, all I can say is, if they don't wrap this "Wellbrexa" situation up by the mid-season/holiday break, I'm done.  I find myself remembering many very tasteless lawyer jokes that were popular amongst my teenaged classmates and I, many years ago.  I know there must be good, honest, ethical lawyers in the profession, but NONE of them are represented in this show.  Ugh!

Im just speculating here but since the second episode this season was on and Maddie had that rant to Olympia about how she (Maddie) could basically do anything, like burning down the courthouse and get away with it, I wonder if SR is going to be murdered and Maddie becomes the prime suspect?

Of course this is pure speculation but it would kind of turn the Matlock premise on its ear. I plan to keep watching.

The mystery woman is Jason Ritter's (Julian) wife in RL.
You cannot mistake Melanie Lynskey's voice even though at first I did not recognize her.

I think she will have more to do with Senior since Melanie said she would like to stay on the show.

To be continued.

I have to admit I listen more than sit and watch.

I don't think Del Rio's character was safe anyway especially with the approaching birth. It's possible he was about to be written out or at least reduced but the s*x assault nailed the coffin for him.

Regardless he will be gone.

@Cakers3  What did I miss?  What mystery woman?

Re: Matlock Season 2

[ Edited ]

@Mz iMac , I *think* @Cakers3  is referring to the woman Senior took to Australia with him, who Maddie and Olympia suspect signed an NDA to not talk about that trip.  She and Maddie (who was pretending to have been in Australia at the same time) did some kareoke together, but Maddie kept pressing her on info about Senior, and she ghosted Maddie at the end of the show.  I wonder if Maddie is going to succeed in getting her to spill on Senior, NDA notwithstanding.

What I can't figure out is why somebody can't read that document Maddie stole that Olympia *claims* is fake to figure out if the study info in it is real or not?  Doesn't that pile of paper actually contain the entire study that documents that Wellbrexa's drug was addictive?  If that full study is included in that pile of paper, then surely someone could read it and figure out if it's real.  To me, I think Olympia is lying about that stolen document being fake, I'll bet it's real, but she has bluffed Maddie into believing it's fake.  If it's real, then for pity's sake take the accursed thing to the NYT and let them run with it, and let the chips fall where they may!

Honestly, I can no longer suspend my disbelief enough to enjoy this show.  Send me the da***ed document with the study in it, I'll tell you if it's a real scientific paper or not!

@CamilleP

Her name is Olympia not Olivia.  Maybe your auto correct changed it to Olivia?

I think she ghosted Maddie at the end of the show because she recognized Olympia.  Somewhere along the line, Senior must have shown her a picture of his son and DIL, or she had seen her in a newspaper story regarding a case.

It was obvious Olympia didn't consider she'd be recognized.
