I just watch the Mary Tyler Moore Show. And it was an episode about Chuckles the Clown dying. The show ended with both Mary Tyler Moore and Ted Knight talking about how they wanted their funeral to be. I thought Ed Asner, Gavin MacLeod, Betty White and Georgia Engel are all still living. And the only 2 people that talked about their funeral, were no longer living.

So sad that they are gone. That show is still funny and the show ran from 1970 - 1977. It is over 40 years old.

Great show and a particularly funny episode!  I see the irony, but such is life.

I loved her show. Rhoda, Phyllis--so funny. Mary's apartment was so cute.

That show was fabulous, and stands up to repeated viewings.  It never gets old.

Re: Mary Tyler Moore Show

I watched Mary Tyler Moore from her early days on the ****** van ****** show and followed her through her own wonderful show. In her later years she lived in an adjoining town to my daughter, who saw her at local restaurants on occasion. Sadly, MTM suffered the effects of diabetes and she was in rough shape for years before she passed.

I see that the powers that be censored my remarks, eliminating the name of a famous comedic actor. That is just nuts!

I loved that show too.  Wasn't there a spin off for Rhoda Morgenstern?  I remember one episode where Rhoda was eating a piece of chocolate.  She made the comment, "I don't know why I am eating this.  I should just attach it to my hip."  So funny and sadly true.  I think of that comment sometimes to make me not eat something.

I know Valerie Harper was having some health issues.  I hope she is okay.  Such classy ladies in those days.  Wonderful women and great actresses.

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

Re: Mary Tyler Moore Show

@drizzellla, that is the most hilarious episode, with Mary all starchily disapproving everybody else laughing at Chuckles' manner of death, then being unable to stifle her giggles and whoops at the funeral!  They got the perfect actor to be the minister conducting the service-- I forget his name, but he had the ideal unctuous manner, guaranteed to engineer Mary's helpless crack-up...

"A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants"....

FETV is nearing the end of the Mary Tyler Moore shows-- wonder if they'll crank them all up again from the beginning?  It was fun watching "Rhoda"'s character evolve from the very beginning.  Gosh they were all so good at what they did!

ETA--   @Vivian, clever @SilleeMee showed me how to skirt that absurd censorship.  Simply leave a space between each letter, as in,  "D i c k Van D y k e".  I agree, it is ludicrous that fine, perfectly respectable old names and words are treated this way...

One of my favorite MTM episodes; I keep this one saved on my DVR to watch when I need a good laugh,

They censor it because the words are slang for male organ and lesbian.
