Re: Married at First Sight - Houston

[ Edited ]

Lol, @Lisa now in AZ , you're late to the Bao/Zack party.  Your life must be more fulfilled than mine.  I'm on the internet way too much.

Spoiler
I think the gf thing is known, too but not sure.  However, the mean side of me wants him to bring out a gorgeous woman but it would be obvious why he did it, therefore, not worth doing.  Also I thing Reunion part one and two are done on the same day.  The best thing for Gil to do is move on.  Don't give that mean girl anymore of his energy.

@Lisa now in AZ  and @Mmsfoxxie - I posted this in Post #352. Since we didn't see it in Part 1, we will probably see it in Part 2. Gil went on the show for the publicity. And they had to throw Myrla under the bus for him to get it. But I'm sure she knew!

We've also posted before, and I don't think this needs to be in a spoiler, Rachel said she and Jose got "a bad edit." Other couples have said this before. I believe the whole locking her out thing was contrived by the producers. Jose works for NASA and has a top security clearance. He wouldn't, and couldn't, act like that, with that temper! I'm SO glad these two found happiness!   Smiley Happy

@beach-mom , I have stated I have read repeatedly that Gil is getting the great edit and he is not that wonderful guy they portray...but I would have thought they would have toned down his constant criticism of her.  And I agree she knew and they were in it for the paycheck.  No doubt a bonus to stay together since everybody else was tanking.

Re: Married at First Sight - Houston

DH and I watched "episode 1" the other night.  I will say we are both tiring of them now dragging these reunion shows into 2 episodes and dragging things out.

After reading how this show is being produced, we're not sure we are going to continue watching.  It once used to be decent, however, now these participants (and some being recruited) are just in it for fame and TV time or furthering their career.

Sadly, I'm just not sure either of us want to continue to invest time in something that is not really "real" anymore.  We don't even know what we can believe is fact anymore.

@beach-mom, I missed post #352 somehow...I just read it.  So Gil is being considered Jamie's successor.  I still don't believe that.  So his tears were fake and they never intended to stay married?  Even from the beginning.  I'm so disappointed in this show.  I'm confused.

@HisElk1 - I think we've both said before we like it more real with real romances. And we know we DO see those once in a while.

But I believe this show took a turn when it went to Lifetime. Then I think it took another turn when the ratings went up with the drama we saw.

I had read one of the AP's found Johnny online. I know it's happened with others. I can't believe Johnny went on for fame and fortune. He already has a good job. I don't think he went on to find a wife either. I think he went on to have fun!

I watched the first season because we "knew" Jamie from The Bachelor. Then we got involved quickly. The experts seemed more "real" back then. I've seen every episode. It became even more exciting when DD told me her college friend and fellow dorm resident worked with one of the grooms who was going to be on the next season!

I will watch Boston (Part 2 - LOL!) believing they are ALL acting! LOL! And I will sit back and enjoy the drama!  Smiley Wink

@Mmsfoxxie - DD told me in October about Gil. If you think about his edit you can see it. @Wsmom also saw what was going on. We all fell in love with Myrla and Gil. Despite what we saw at the beginning with Myrla, we saw them become the "lead" couple, and we saw what seemed to be the two of them slowly falling in love.

We were all thrilled at Decision Day, and almost all of us blame Myrla for their breakup.

Gil got a great edit- patient, kind, fun, etc. And he was onscreen a lot. IF the producers are looking for a male, he would be a good choice!   Smiley Happy

Re: Married at First Sight - Houston

I'm sure some of it is manipulated to make it more watch worthy!  But I can't imagine that all of it is fake!  I have a hard time believing that the emotions Gil was displaying were not real!  If they weren't, he is a very good actor!  He is the one I felt was the most genuine.  I really liked he and Bao the best out of all of them.  Myrla was so cold --- it was just unbelievable.  Brett's jumpsuit was atrocious --- just awful!  I can't wait for Part 2!

Re: Married at First Sight - Houston

Wow, whole new slant at looking at this season.  I liked both Gil and Myrla.  You can't fault someone for being open and honest despite the fact that it an all about me attitude.  I never saw Gil as being critical, but rather pointing out the character flaws that would keep him from saying yes on D day.  I still like them.

I said on one of these boards that I think the Jose temper thing/dead bolt incident was staged.  He never showed signs of that on any other episodes.  I think he and Rachael have feelings and could make this work. I think that he is more mature and established in his life and she is more carefree, but loving.

I am glad that Jaimie is out, but I have learned, be careful what you wish for.  If it ends up being Elizabeth and Brianna, that could be a laughing competition for the spotlight.

[ Edited ]

I don't know if there is another thread on the 2nd part of the reunion show or if everyone is posting on the other site but I just watched it and I just have to post, but I will do so in a spoiler in case some have not watched.

Spoiler
My blood was boiling several times as I watched this!  I actually felt very angry at some of the people as I felt they seemed very like a bunch of high school kids, who were uncaring and rude and making fun of another's feelings and pain!  Mainly --- Gil! It has been stated that a lot of this show is made up and not real, and this may be.  But if Gil is acting, he is sure a good actor!  He was in tears and breaking down and I find it hard to believe that his display was not real!  While I believe it is Myrla's right to feel the way she feels, I feel she was very cold and callous toward him.  When they are all together being questioned by Kevin, they kept panning to Gil and you could just see that the pain in his face and eyes were overwhelming.  There sat Johnny and Myrla all smiles and giggles and she was putting her fingers all up his arm!  Then Kevin asked if they were a couple or just friends -- and it was like --- wellll!  Then it was said that they had been spending a lot of time together and has spent time together in Mexico.  They were yucking it all up and there sat Gil --- trying to keep from breaking down.  Baoi did not look any too happy either!  Then, at one point Rachel spoke up - saying --- Giving it a rest, Johnny!  Finally, when Gil couldn't take the uncaring comments and atmosphere from not only Myrla and Johnny but from the majority of the others, he stood and said he was not feeling well and had to leave and walked off the set.  Michaela who was having issues with Zack (not a surprise as this was ongoing) walked off as well.  They showed Myrla's face and she kind of had a smirk on her face - like, --oh, well -- who cares!  And Johnny, like -- the cat who swallowed the canary!  I was glad that after Gil left the set and went to the back he expressed himself and said - maybe the others thought it was all a joke and that divorce was nothing, but he went into it wanting to find a real relationship and a marriage!  I found the reactions and actions of Myrla and Johnny and most of the rest to be so insensitve and appalling.  Just the worst I think I had seen since watching this dumb show!
