@Judaline, I was struck by his luxuriant, curly hair in this one!   When I think of him as an adult, I picture a close-cropped, handsome young Brooks Brothers kind of guy....

 

He was good.  He, and little Brandon de Wilde (from "Shane") tug at my heartstrings, for some reason...

I must admit I’ve never cared for Margaret O’Brien as an actress. She was either crying or looked like she was about to cry in pretty much every scene In every movie. LOL.

That's one of my favorite books, as an adult.  I don't remember reading it as a kid.

 

I never saw the original movie, only the remake of 1993.  Wish I had known it was on, I would have DVR'd it.
