In this picture you can clearly see the sadness in her son's eyes. It is a tragic story all around.

Broken heart syndrome also know as takotsubo syndrome happens when a person experiences sudden acute stress that can rapidly weaken heart muscles. My daughter's cardiologist assured me that that is a very real diagnosis of heart failure she suffered 11 months after the sudden death of her husband. After a year and a half in cardiac rehab and counseling she is doing much better. Lisa Marie never was able to recover after the suicide of her beloved son. My heart aches for her surviving children and mother.

Lisa Marie's smiles seemed most genuine in early pictures with her parents.  After Elvis died, I always sensed deep sadness in her eyes and facial expressions, but choose to believe she's smiling now.
