I love her too.  Such a glamour girl!    She was ideally cast in "Winter Meeting",  the Bette Davis film with Jim Davis and John Hoyt.   Bette's a reserved poet, and Janis is the gorgeous secretary of Bette's friend, John Hoyt.   Janis thinks that war hero Jim Davis would make a great conquest for her, but he has eyes only for Bette....

Janis does "disappointed petulance" to perfection in this movie!

Great and funny, in "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" with Doris Day and David Niven too.

A super TV role for her was in "Ballad for a Ghost",  one of the most poignant episodes of the landmark TV show "The Fugitive",  with the irreplaceable David Janssen:

A piquant talent.  RIP.

Just saw her recently in a Columbo episode.  She should have been in the movie version of The Pajama Game.

RIP.

I'm sure I've seen her in some movies, but the only thing I remember her in is a role she played on the show "Happy Days" as Fonzie's possible mother. RIP.

I remember her in the movie "Sea of Love" with Al Pacino.  She was the woman who answered the singles ad that was placed by the police.

The casting of the film version of The Pajama Game was interesting.

Warner Brothers would take only one star from the Broadway production,  either Janis or John Raitt, insisting that a major movie star with box office draw have the other role.

Frank Sinatra declined the male lead,  so John Raitt was cast and Janis lost out.
