Re: General Hospital ~ February 2023 ~ Spoilers Included

QOFM

I don't think I get too jazzed up about any scene partners but there are story lines I would like to see end.

Let's find out who is the hook.

Let's find out who is Trina's father

Bring home Lucy and wrap up that whole story line preferablly with getting rid of Victor

Let Gladys get caught spending Sasha's money

Find a cure for Willow.  I know they are not going to let her die so let's get on with the cure.

Re: General Hospital ~ February 2023 ~ Spoilers Included

Lucy and Martin interact well together.  I'd like to see where Diane and Robert could go, however, I'm not sure the writers could do justice to that s/l.  The only other pairing would be Ava and Victor as Ava is the one to finally bring Victor down once and for all!!!

I just wish CM would go back to Hallmark.   I do not understand his appeal.

So Ryan, Heather, and Esme are going to break out of Spring Ridge.......just what viewers need.....NOT!

It's time for so many s/ls to end.  I just don't think the writers know how to do that.  None of the recent conclusions were eventful or impactful.   Plots drag out so long that viewers really don't care.

Looking forward to the rest of winter to moving along.  Seeing the sun on a regular basis will be wonderful.

@mysoutherncomfort  @Coquille   Harmony was in black. ALL BLACK. That's not the color we I generally associate with Heaven.  Totally agree @Tique yet, white puffy clouds and Harmony saying words to the effect...come with me into the light...oh BTW @Coquille it wasn't you...it was the writers.  To be sure a couple of the lines were "wierd".

@Tique  Dressed in black is the reason I thought she was off and was going to turn. This is where the sinister laugh usually comes in!😉

Edited :  It was before my time but I remember, when I was little seeing in a clip somewhere, that a person was tied to the train tracks and a man, in a huge hat, with a curled mustache, was laughing that crazy laugh. That's what that scene reminded me of. Why 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

@Coquille If memory serves me correctly that was Snidley Whiplash you are describing with good, dear Nell (I believe was the lady) tied to the RR tracks.  Hmmm, before your time, oh well, not before mine (you young whippersnapper)!

I just wish CM would go back to Hallmark.   I do not understand his appeal.  Neither do I.  It's not what you know (or how you can act), guess it's 'who' you know.  I can say that about CW/Nina, too.

@mysoutherncomfort  Taking a break from cooking and thought i'd check in and there you were. I ain't young but maybe a little bit of a whippersnapper!😉  I'm going to look up Snidley.  Just did,  That's him! It's funny how our minds remember some things. I was very young and going through a very bad family time but that I remember, clear as day.

Thanks for the info. Have a good weekend and you and yours STAY WELL!

Back to cooking.

Re: General Hospital ~ February 2023 ~ Spoilers Included

I can see them doing an Ava/Austin match.

One of the speculation rumors is that there is NOT a baby switch but a DNA switch. I assume they would take a DNA sample once the baby is born to confirm the paternity. The rumor/speculation is that Heather or someone switches or gets DNA from Michael and Willow's baby to make it appear that it's Esme's baby's DNA. Since the baby is premature ( Smiley Very Happy ) I would assume it will be in the hospital for a little while. Could Emse's baby be coming very soon? I find it funny that with modern technology, no one has told Esme the sex of her child. They still refer to it as he/she.

@mysoutherncomfort. Thank you for your kind wishes.  Saw the surgeon yesterday and he reminded me that I'm not even 2 mos out.  Recovery will take some time.  Seeing the oncologist next week; fingers crossed.

Looking forward to sweeps to see if anything is resolved.

General Hospital Makes A Mockery Of Cancer With Willow’s Medical Miracle

Hope Campbell

Willow Tait should have thought about the GH child she had at home.

general hospital had willow tait looking mad in her hospital bed

From the start, there has been something tone-deaf and off with the way General Hospital has handled Willow’s cancer-ridden pregnancy, and the happy Hallmark movie miracle ending she got just reeks of irresponsibility.

GH  Misses A Big Opportunity

When TJ  first told Willow she was pregnant when it was clear there was also something else going on with her body, we thought the soap might take a chance and give us a pro-choice story with a woman who desperately wanted a child, but uncontrollable circumstances forced her to terminate. After all, in the real world, Roe v. Wade had just been overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, and states across the country were enacting archaic laws that forced some women to go without cancer treatment just because they were pregnant.

With GH taking place in New York, a state where women can still have abortions and get their cancer treated on their own terms, it was a perfect chance for the soap to explore the agonizing decision women have to make every day when they decide they need to live for the child or children they still have at home. Instead, we got Willow, a woman who didn’t think of the little boy who calls her Mommy and then refused cancer treatment for months for fear of hurting an embryo.

On top of that, she didn’t even bother telling Michael she had cancer until she realized she had reached stage 4, all of her own doing by treating her cancer like an afterthought and refusing to fight it for so long.

Willow Needed To Whisper Her Cancer

To make matters worse, once Michael knew she was sick, she didn’t want to tell anyone else for fear that people might look at her funny and treat her differently, as if she lived in 1923 when cancer was considered a dirty word that people whispered in corners.

Even when she learned she needed a bone marrow transplant, she still refused to reveal the truth about her condition despite the fact that everyone she knew could have gotten tested to see if they were a bone marrow match. It was as if Willow had already decided to die despite soon having two children who would need her.

General Hospital Sends A Dangerous Message

Make no bones about it — what Willow did was stupid — plain and simple. Cancer is not something to be played around with, and early detection and early treatment are the best ways to beat this deadly disease. If you neglect your cancer and refuse treatment, you usually die, but Willow will not because she got a perfect miracle.

It turns out that in Port Charles, if you are pregnant and learn you have leukemia, it’s perfectly acceptable to refuse treatment and just wait until your baby reaches viability so you can get stem cells from the child’s cord and have a miracle cure delivered in a flash. Why would any pregnant woman with leukemia ever choose treatment when she can just get herself to death’s door and then wait for her baby’s stem cells to be available?

While Willow’s cure is a medical possibility, it is not how things usually work, and when a person refuses chemotherapy for months on end, stage 4 cancer will eventually take their life. However, on GH, it means you get a Hallmark movie ending with a trip to the light and back included. Yes, this is a soap opera, but no, a soap should never, ever tell a pregnancy and cancer story like this again.

Re: General Hospital ~ February 2023 ~ Spoilers Included

@mysoutherncomfort    I don't think Harmony is in heaven, she had all black on. This says to me she's not in heaven. Which leads me to say this is why Willow did not go with her faux mother. No one needs that!!!
