I just looked up the trailor for Emma Stone's "Poor Things".

It's going to be really funny! I just about fell out of the chair!!!

It’s a hard R - my local reviewer commented that even he had to avert his eyes at some of the scenes. A version of Frankenstein, where a pregnant woman dies and her brain is replaced with that of the child she is carrying. Stone is supposed to be incredible in it. I’m still thinking if I want to see it in the theater or wait.

I'm not sure I would call this movie a "hoot."

"It plot focuses on Bella Baxter, a young Victorian woman who, after being crudely resurrected by a scientist following her suicide, runs off with a debauched lawyer to embark on an odyssey of self-discovery and sexual liberation."

Yorgos Lanthimos has also directed The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The Favourite.

As interesting as his films are, I suspect they aren't for everyone. They generally include images that are difficult to watch.

And those images will stay with you.

@just bee I watched The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and never again. I could hardly finish watching that....I doubt I will see Poor Things!
