I somehow missed the Commander Reid Wiseman's declaration after landing, that the astronauts were "green", meaning in good shape.
Emerging...
Astronaut Victor Glover, walking again!

I don't mean to be a buzzkill but with all the hoopla surrounding this space mission I feel as though I'm the only one underwhelmed by this mission.
Why didn't they land on the moon? They did back in '69 unless your a conspiracy theorist. And they are back so soon. How quickly forgotten are the astronauts who were left stranded up in space for months and months. This crew was up for a week.
Elon wants to explore Mars. That's thinking big.

@jellyBEAN , you're not a buzzkill. Looking at the whole venture in context, though, I believe gives a bigger picture.
After 50 plus years of no crewed missions to the moon, a preliminary orbit was necessary to test current systems and safety, before the much heavier commitment of landing. Artemis II passed that hurdle with flying colors.
This U.S. re-activation of the first, post-World War II space race is crucial for the security and stability of the world. The old mission was motivated by those concerns as well-- and if anything, the hazards posed in this race are just as problematic, if not more so. Important that we succeed, I believe.

You are not alone. The timing is wrong. People are suffering on this planet. The world is unstable and its because of US.
The only good thing to come from this is the conspiracy nuts have pics that show the earth is round.

This girl would have green in a not good way. Like Linda Blair way.

I saw Victor Glover's dad on the news. One proud papa!

@jellyBEAN I heard them say that next year they plan to land on the moon. This was very exciting to me. It's a first and a life time experience. At 81, I may not get to see another one. It's wonderful and the splash down took my breath away. ❤️

@jellyBEAN This mission was a "Shakedown" This was not the same capsule type as 1969.
It was a test. To find out if all systems work in reality not just on paper.
Would the Waste Management System work without a hitch? Answer: NO.
Would the communications System Work without a Hitch through All phases of the Mission? Answer: NO.
It's better to find out these things Sooner rather than later.
As for the state of the world, Why do you think they are making it such a priority to get OFF this rock?
edit: spelling

This is all new technology. This is not the technology from the 60's that they just dug up and are re-building. The computer systems are far superior, but that's only a part of it. And there's a big difference between sending a satellite up and human beings. You can't expect them to just go for all the marbles without some test flights.
They actually can't duplicate the Space Shuttle even if they wanted to. Much of the design information has been lost. I remember one of my workmates on the phone talking to the Germans trying to get some of that information.
And regardless of how long they have been in space, it's always a relief when they make it home safely. The news media made it all seem routine and stopped/reduced their coverage of the Space Shuttle missions until it wasn't.
@Oznell, I was watching ABC w/David Muir and he talked about it them being green and what it meant as he had just found out. When I heard the crew was green, my thought went to little green men, LOL.
