@Mz iMac I agree, the Beijing opening had spectacular creative technology. My heart remains with the 1992 Albertville, France winter Olympics. Completely low tech. Artistically everything we love about French design.

Probably like some of you, I pick and choose what to watch.

I'll DVR most of it; but just watch certain segments of it.

absolutely will be watching.....i never miss the olympics and always look forward to seeing the sports, rooting for the american team, and hearing back stories on athletes from around the world. LOVE watching the opening and closing ceremonies also.

one of the few times countries of the world comes together in peace and camaraderie.

I love watching the Olympics, but admit I enjoy the summer Olympics much more than the winter. I am also not thrilled they are in China.

I haven't watched the Olympics since 1996 and don't have any plans on starting now.

So someone asked when it starts. Does snyone know? I check my local listings for tonight. Does it start tomorrow? Next week? Next month?

But that CBS was covering them. It's NBC again. CBS used to show some polish and a bit of class in their coverage. NBC, not so much. Some of their commentators have grown timeworn.

As for me, I might watch here or there, but the Olympics don't shine as brightly as they once did and the fact that they're in China is no kind of a draw for me.
