I love Notting Hill, but it sure seems like it could use a different title.

Do you have a movie you'd rename?

What a good question.  I have two candidates, @qualitygal.

"The Big Sleep"--   I've never been able to successfully unwind the plot of this iconic but confusing Bogart and Bacall movie, so am not sure if the title is relevant to the plot.  But I don't think it does it any favors.

"The Third Man"--   In this case, the title directly relates to something in the plot.  But this brilliant, haunting, Joseph Cotten- Orson Welles movie deserves a title with so much more "oomph",  I believe!

The title is a euphemism for death; it refers to a rumination about "sleeping the big sleep" in the final pages of the book.  I wish I'd read the book.

Just thought I'd throw that in. Raymond Chandler had the answer but we can't ask him now.

Well not a movie but there is a show on Hallmark I think titled When Calls The Heart.  I do not understand this title at all.
