One thing I don't understand is WHY it takes so darn long to do a DNA test and get results! ${#emotions_dlg.unsure}$

A woman who is assaulted and goes to the ER for treatment and a rape kit should have doctors take the DNA evidence, pop it into a machine that can immediately identify it ........... and doctors can put it in a database and get a match (or not) before the woman even leaves the Emergency Room!

WHY can't they do better ? ${#emotions_dlg.confused1}$

You know the blood test is fast and the DNA is a little more complicated but it should not take several weeks. If we allocate funds for this it would be helpful to do many types of Criminal DNA not only rape but help in autopsy and crimes scenes those in charge need to stop or put out of a job and stop play politics and with people lives...
