@Linmo It was no accident that Caley's face was wrapped in duct tape, it was a deliberate murder period.

I said as much in my opener @Linmo . I agree that we may never know. I still would like to know though.
I'm one of the few people on this planet, that actually agreed with the jury. I believe the child died accidentally (drowned) in the pool while Casey was being neglectful as usual. Simply not paying attention. This was what the police actually believed initially what happened. She was convicted of being a neglectful mother after all. She was terrified of her mother her reaction, etc. So she hid the body for a long time, out of sight, out of mind. She didn't want to work, just party. Her mother always taking care of the baby. (like some unwed women...they still go out to party in hopes on meeting a man that will hang around longer) No problem, the mother takes care of the baby. All day & every day Casey, always the social animal, would drive around all day, going nowhere, talking constantly over the phone, about nothing. She hid the body at their old teenage hangout in the woods. In fact some of her former classmates told the police they believed that Casey dumped the body there. They would have found the child earlier, but a hurricane went through there.
@songbird Why was duct tape wrapped around Caley's face to be certain she could not breathe and die, this was NO accident!

What would be the reason for placing duct tape over the mouth of a dead child who drowned in a swimming pool?
@mom2four0418 Also there was something about a heart shaped on the tape on the little girls mouth..
5 MIN READ
ORLANDO, Fla (Reuters) - An FBI examiner testified on Monday that she saw the outline of a small heart on the duct tape prosecutors say Casey Anthony used to smother her 2-year-old daughter Caylee three years ago this week.
“Other than saying it was in the shape of a heart the size of a dime, I cannot go further,” said Elizabeth Fountaine, an FBI specialist in latent fingerprints.
Fountaine said the heart outline looked like the same sort of residue left behind by an old adhesive bandage that has been pulled away from the skin.
Previously released documents show that heart-shaped stickers of a similar size to what Fountaine described were found during a search of the Orlando-area home Casey shared with her daughter and parents.

What mystery????? There never was any mystery, there was just a gross miscarriage of justice. She killed her baby and got away with it.

I don't have anything to add, as it's all been said, but the amount of evidence just cannot possibly support some kind of accident happening, in lieu of it being murder. There is absolutely nothing that illustrates an accident OR a scenario where somebody else killed the child.
It's been a while so if there were jurors who explained their verdict, I don't remember any of it. Therefore, I am curious as to why they had all that evidence and issued a not guilty verdict.
I also agree with those discussing the difference between 'beyond a reasonable doubt' as opposed to 'beyond ANY doubt'. I do agree that some juries get caught up in that and think that it actually DOES mean beyond any doubt whatsoever. That is terribly unfortunate.

First off I am not defending Casey but I think her daughter's death was an accident. I think to go out and have fun because she was so immature, she drugged her and left her in the trunk of the car and maybe it worked for a while but, then came the day she gave her too much and killed her. In her panic, she took her to her childhood place in the woods by her house and dumped her hoping to come up with a good story. Like she was kidnapped, drowned in the family pool, or wander off and someone got her. It never happened. She even tried to blame her Dad The jury was wrong to find her not guilty and her poor little girl never got the justice she deserved. In my opinion, Casey got away with murder.

How can it be an accident when you are drugging a toddler in the first place?

I saw her on Inside Edition recently and unfortunately lol. The story was about her getting water thrown on her and her calling the police about it. A police video was shown. She said people throw drinks in her face all the time. Of course it's tough to believe anything she says but I hope they do. The woman that she had a fight with said their fight was about much more than Casey said it was. Casey claimed it was because she was dating her ex.
