I just read the announcement that they're giving this show three more years.

I haven't watched B&B in ages .... back when Hunter Tylo and Ronn Moss were still there.   When they got the new Ridge, I found him to be creepy.

One of the reasons this show has survived so long is because it's one of the few soaps that is only half an hour and is much easier to sell to foreign countries.  It's easier to slip in a half hour show into the lineup than a full hour show that runs every day.

Agree, this Ridge is awful. A decent actor but completely wrong for the part. Then again, the character has become unbearable. As for the show, one has to assume it's the half hour length, the time slot, that it follows Y&R (which is more about it being a fixture than anything else) keeping it going, because it sure isn't the writing or casting. I've pretty much given it up, as it keeps circling the toilet.

That's one show my husband watches with me. So many implausible stories, but it's a good half hour escape while we have lunch.

My husband watches it with me also, much of the dialogue makes us laugh.

The current B&B storylines are boring and repetitive so since I am fairly new to this soap I have been watching the old episodes.

I see how matriarch Stephanie Forrester and Brooke became arch enemies and trinkled down to her grand daughter Stephanie and her dislike of the Logans.

Now the Ridge back then was something the current Ridge that Brooke and Taylor are fighting over is unrealistic to me.

I wonder what ever happened to Ronn Moss, the original Ridge.   I know he was once in a band, but after he left, I never heard anything about him ever again.
